OG Zach Fulton

Word on another board is that Fulton may possibly be back on the table with the Vol OL coach moving on. Wonder if we would take 4 if we get Carnes, Owa, and Cooper...??
if it's the right four i hope (and think) we would make room.
If the 4 are Owa, Cooper, Carnes, and Fulton then yes the staff makes room. However I don't see the O-Line Coach leaving Tennessee as being a big factor here. Fulton's primary recruiter is their OC and he isn't going anywhere.
:yeah
I also heard Sanders took a trip to visit Fulton after his visit with Cooper this week...

According to Munson on 1620 a minute ago, Fulton is still in the mix for the Huskers. He says Fulton is putting up this "screen" about being 100% committed to Tennessee, but that there still is communication between him and Nebraska. Sounds like we shouldn't close the door on this one just yet.

Considering that 5 of the offensive spots on the field are OL shouldn't we theoretically pick up 4 OL/year to keep the OL 3 deep? If we got 4 good Offensive Linemen per year then it would theoretically give us 16 scholarship linemen... and assuming we have a couple red-shirt each year, and a few injuries each year... that would give us 3 deep at each position. Teams like Texas, Florida, and Bama do this.

I feel like part of our offensive line problem is that we settle with 2-3 quality guys each year when we really need 4-5.

You also have to realize that when Callahan got the boot, several of his O-Linemen left too. Burkes had medical issues. A couple of guys never developed like they were expected to.... etc. We only have a few upperclassmen on the line. So don't you think we need to be bringing in some extras (like we have with the defense) to bridge that gap that callahan screwed us with? I think in a perfect world, if we had more scholies we would take Simiek and Fulton.

I'm expecting 5 OL scholarships to be allocated for next year.

Look for us to pick up a *****, a couple of ****, and a couple of *** OL players next year.

Will it be a make or break with Fulton if we do/don't land him, I don't think so but it wouldn't hurt to get another OL but than again it won't hurt us if we don't get him.

We already have 4 OL in this years class if you count Cotton. Cotton could play either offense or defense because he was recruited for both. We have Hardrick who's already enrolled into classes and could see plenty of playing time next year and could quite possibly start. Not to mention we already have 2 OL for the 2011 class with Tyler Moore and Ryne Reeves.
