I don't disagree with the reasons Pedey didn't want to play this game, it was how it was handled.
Once again, Pedey needs a PR guy. The Houston AD ripped him, as did the announcers last night, from what I understand.
Oh, and
Maine replaced the Houston game, not Wake. In a LJS article about the Maine AD, it says, " After another deal fell through, he eventually ended up speaking in December with Tim Cassidy, Nebraska’s associate athletic director for football. By coincidence, both schools had an open date on Sept. 3." Interesting...if Wake was scheduled to replace Houston, why play Sept 10? NU only had the 3rd open b/c they backed out with Houston. NU didn't have Sept 10th open because Wake was already scheduled.
September 3rd would not have been open if Houston had been scheduled to open the season...
