good thing he chickened out of the houston game this year after how they are playing oregon. Good move stevie. :clap

You're right Benard, he is a genius. He made $3.2 million more for the university by scheduling a game here. I applaud you're observation, Benard. :clap

38-21 man they look awesome. Nice try again Benard. What was the score when you started this topic?
houston was a head at half, they would of been alittle better competiton then this busch league team.

How does playing a I-AA team give Nebraska a bad reputation? I read that 40+ I-A teams are playing I-AA opponents this season. Since you are easily influenced by negative media, go ahead and believe what you want , but going to Houston to play that game vs. playing another game in Lincoln made no sense. That workout facility isn't going to pay for itself. Don't you go to the games? Most people that are fans of Nebraska like watching the games in person. Oh well, I think Frankie is gonna be on ESPN+ this weekend playing a team that will stomp him, that should make you happy. :thumbs

Have you seen Texas Tech's or Oklahoma State's Schedule? Sorry, we don't even have the easiest nonconference in the Big 12.

OSU- Montana State

Florida Atlantic

Arkansas State

TT- Florida International

Sam Houston

Indiana State

I think it was mentioned earlier that Wake Forest was scheduled in place of Houston. I also think it was Houston that dropped the ball on the game as they couldn't get their crap together in a month plus so Pederson got tired of waiting around. It was then their AD who started crying about it. Our non-conference schedule is pretty much middle of the pack for the rest of the NCAA. Besides, getting a warm-up game in and giving the team a chance to build some momentum isn't a bad thing for this year.

Don't forget Kansas with: Florida Atlantic, Appalachian St., and Louisiana Tech.
hey, do not dis Louisiana Tech. they gave NU a couple of good games back in the day.

I don't disagree with the reasons Pedey didn't want to play this game, it was how it was handled.

Once again, Pedey needs a PR guy. The Houston AD ripped him, as did the announcers last night, from what I understand.

Oh, and Maine replaced the Houston game, not Wake. In a LJS article about the Maine AD, it says, " After another deal fell through, he eventually ended up speaking in December with Tim Cassidy, Nebraska’s associate athletic director for football. By coincidence, both schools had an open date on Sept. 3." Interesting...if Wake was scheduled to replace Houston, why play Sept 10? NU only had the 3rd open b/c they backed out with Houston. NU didn't have Sept 10th open because Wake was already scheduled.

September 3rd would not have been open if Houston had been scheduled to open the season...

You decide...I'm sure Pedey is telling the truth, and

-University of Houston

-ESPN

-Reliant Stadium

-Dave Maggard

-University of Oregon (they had no problem putting together the same game)

-**** Vermeil

-Al Sanders

-University of Arkansas

-Houston Nutt

-Frank Broyles

-Lincoln Journal Star

are all liars.

dedhoarse

Now, on to the game!!!!!!!!! Go Big Red!!!
