Prime Time!!! - Deion Sanders Hired as Colorado Head Coach

"CU Athletics?"  What is that? Can they issue a statement and policy like this without the direct approval of the Athletic Director Rick George, who was voted Athletic Director of the Year last year?

Are there any objective Colorado sports journalists willing to ask Rick George these questions?

It's all surface nonsense, a constant drone of nattering noise that means next to nothing. Unless you're hanging around Boulder and drafting with the rest of the B-list in tow.

Or you're ESPN cashing the advertising check.

This is what we've been sold: Deion Sanders is a change agent redefining college football as coach at Colorado.

This is reality: there's nothing tangible or foundational, just a mishmash program with more than 120 different scholarship players since the beginning of the 2023 season.

I don't like Colorado. And the media attention is obnoxious a lot of the time. And I think this overall take is pretty good, but it's a bit early in the season, and struggling against NDSU doesn't mean a lot. I don't care who they're playing, I would not judge any team for having a close win against them. It's the worst combination I can imagine for a coach to prepare their team for. They are good, and they are FCS so hyping your players up is probably difficult. It's just about the worst team you could schedule, maybe the worst.

I’m so glad Nebraska didn’t do what some fans wanted.

Me looking for all the Prime backers in this thread:

It's wild reading back through some of this thread and the takes some people had, particularly from those who thought Nebraska should've hired Sanders.

Now would be a good time for them to provide an update  :D .

Who could have possibly predicted this would be the ultimate style over substance hire?

What's also pretty sad and disappointing is that I think we lost a long time poster (someone whom I always liked and found to be a generally solid contributor, suh_fan93) in part because of this thread and the narrative surrounding Deion Sanders. It was a really strange circumstance. And that was then followed up by him getting pretty heated in DM's, toeing the board guidelines, and ghosting. Hasn't been active since Nov. of 2023.

I thought Sanders would do much better.  Not able to hire or keep people around him to take care of his weaknesses.

His show never would have worked at Nebraska.

Reading back through this thread is now top of my list.  Just the first 3 pages are  :HotTake:
