Prime Time!!! - Deion Sanders Hired as Colorado Head Coach

Wow do you hear yourself. Deion has been scrutinized his whole life so what makes you think he couldn't handle the pressure of coaching here? When you go through what he has been through and still want to coach and teach life lessons to young men to grow up and be leaders and mature men I commend him for that. He knows what it takes to win bc that's all he has ever been an All-American football player, and MLB baseball player and NFL pro bowl player and then on top of that Hall of Fame football player. So all he needs is for people to keep doubting him and his abilities and he will keep doing what he does best which is being a winner.

Well im saying is no need to question his ability as a coach. He is a winner.

It doesn't matter where he is winning at. He knows how to win and who to surround himself to win. You can disregard his record I won't.

i wanted deion, but our program is too boring to make a hire like that...

colorado just went from most irrelevant power 5 team to the most interesting.

Deion can coach and recruit. Yes he never done it at this stage but you don't just get to where he is at with just recruiting. I just don't understand why people don't think he can have long term success especially if he has success early with winning?

I think that Colorado with Deion has a way easier path to success then Nebraska with Matt Rhule. I say that bc recruits will follow him and know of him. I don't think he would be where he us at in coaching just to quit once his son's are done playing. I don't think that is what drives him for success, it's people that doubt him. Why go to Colorado if he could have went to a Florida school easier on having a recruiting base to win? It's bc he knows what he brings to the table and it doesn't matter where he goes he will win.

Deion Sanders said it himself its not about money as to why he chose Colorado and I knew it wasn't bc that's not what he cares about. He cares about making a impact on kids lives and also changing the narrative of being a African American Head Coach.

I don't believe that. I believe that he will get Colorado to a respectable winning program. I do see him winning the pac 12 in 3 years.

@Huskerfollower4life get in here and eat your crow like a man  ;)

Wow….wow…..wow.

It’s like he doesn’t care about CU. Just his kids. I’m totally shocked.

In wish we would have hired him.

Zero home visits from the head coach. I just can’t believe that you built your entire philosophy around being a celebrity coach and you don’t even attempt to compel talented high schoolers into joining your program.

I mean, I get it.

It is not like he is going to be a teacher or work in a cubical at Union Pacific after his CFB days are done.

He is pretty much football or bust BUT clearly his "bust" is still being either rich on his own OR rich because of his Dad with tons of opportunities.

Generally when you hear a statement like this it is from a kid who literally has or comes form nothing.  So clearly hearing it from him sounds crazy.

Clearly I was making a joke, but if your football skills earn you a free education at a decent university, you should think of THAT as your ticket off the streets.

The kid's been in like 8 commercials at least. He should have enough $ to retire on already, even ignoring his inheritance. But since he grew up as Deion's son he won't want to live the kind of life that would allow him to retire on only $10MM or whatever his current wealth is.

That is not enough to get invited to a Diddy "white party"
