QB Tim Tebow

I just don't see him leaving the state....he's a Gator.. would he be considered the best athlete of the trio the Huskers are after?????

I guess it can't hurt to bring in the best talent every single year, even when you have a guy like Beck ready to step in hopefully and be the man for the next couple of years.
I like what we have now at the position, but it cannot hurt to get the best players available, regardless of how it will affect the roster.

I still see Tebow staying in state, though. He'll be a Gator.
I think you'll see the Huskers go after the best QB's every year. They will attempt to bring in at least one QB every single year. This is always no matter what school your at, a thin position.

Who is recruiting Tebow...Norvell??? Blake??

I agree with you guys, Florida has to be the leader, but how far fetched is this. I believe if the Huskers can get an official visit out of Tebow, it could double their chances of getting Tebow. Now ....if one of these guys commits, do the other two run off to another school?? Do the Huskers stop recruiting the others?

Callahan himself is recruiting him, and I think that Norvelle is there too. As far as how highly regarded this guy is, he may be the number one recruit in the country next year at any position. He faster than Cate or Freeman, has a better arm, plays in a very pass oriented offense and ran for 1200 yards last year as well as throwing for over 4000. He had 48 passing tds and 24 rushing. All of this was in Florida, against some pretty good competition. The only question is his mechanics. He throws side arm and has a pretty slow delivery, all though Freeman does too. These things can be worked on however. I still think he is a risky take because I'm not sure how well he will translate into our offense. The offense he ran in high school is a gimmicy one that looks alot like Meyer's offense at Utah. Remember though, we got Beck, the number one quarterback from Florida, last year. It can be done.

I think we can all be assured that he is not coming to the HUksers.

Top quarterback takes a look at Clemson

QUARTERBACK Tim Tebow (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) of St. Augustine, Fla., rated as one of the nation's top seniors, made an unofficial visit to Clemson for the Texas A&M game and has the Tigers among his top eight.

"That was my second time gong to Clemson and I really like the place and the coaches," Tebow said. "I think their offense is going to get better. We're just going to keep watching them."

Tebow said he also is considering Florida, Miami, Florida State, Southern Cal, Alabama, Michigan, LSU and Iowa.

St.Pete Times: Nease QB Tim Tebow 'is, truly, amazing' Reply

Nease QB 'is, truly, amazing'

MIAMI - Armwood defensive coordinator Matt Thompson looked out and thought, "No! No! Timeout! Timeout!"

But before the words were spoken and his hands raised to form the "T" ... "It was too late," he said.

A football was floating from the center to quarterback Tim Tebow, who because he saw a defensive front that left him one on one with a linebacker, shot forward and juked.

Then he started running.

Which was ... was ... difficult to wrap a thought around.

Tebow is 6 feet 3, 225 pounds with sides of beef for thighs. And yet suddenly, he was sprinting past some supposedly extremely fast defensive backs.

Seventy yards later, the bull was dragged down at the Armwood 10. He had, as he had done all day, twisted a knife in Armwood's hopes, which had been lifted seconds earlier when a two-point conversion cut its deficit to 41-30 with 8:45 remaining.

"You couldn't make the smallest mistake or he would kill you, just like he killed us on that play," Thompson said. "In the end, he was everything that everybody said about him and maybe even more.

"We watched tape of him, and he looked good. But people told us he'd look better in person. I didn't believe it, but they were right. He ran by us. He threw bullets. He ran us over. I've never seen anybody run through us like that. But he did. He is, truly, amazing."

And at age 17, he is a legend.

Saturday at Dolphins Stadium, he led Ponte Vedra Beach Nease to a 44-37 victory over two-time defending state champion Armwood. And afterward on Nease's sideline, no one denied Tebow was the main reason, if not the reason, it won.

"Tim Tebow is our heart and soul," said Nease receiver Ryan Ellis, who caught three touchdowns. "He is an All-American, an All-American in every way. I feel honored to have played with him for three years. To see him walk up to the huddle gives everybody so much confidence. I feel blessed to have played with him."

Dang ... and that from a teenager talking about a teenager.

But when that teenager has accounted for nearly all of your offense for three years and in the biggest game of his and your school's life come through big as ever, how else can you feel?

Especially when the guy is nothing but humble.

"All I wanted to do (Saturday)," Tebow said afterward, "was help my team win. That was it. Whatever that took, I was willing to do."

That meant being involved in a state-championship record 54 plays, 27 passing, 27 rushing, breaking the previous mark of 49 set by Pahokee's Anquan Boldin in 1998. It also meant tying a state final record by accounting for six touchdowns (two rushing, four passing) while piling up an astounding 390 total yards (153 rushing and 237 passing). On top of all that is the fact Nease stunk before Tebow, going 2-8 and 3-7 while drawing a few hundred to games.

"We were everybody's homecoming," Nease coach Craig Howard said. "Everybody wanted to play us because they knew they would beat us."

Since Tebow, who arrived as a sophomore, the Panthers have gone 5-5, 11-2 and 13-2, including Saturday's first-ever state title. When it ended, Tebow ran toward the 3,000 screaming Nease fans, who, after the big lug scaled the wall, hugged him for several minutes as his famous legs dangled.

After he jumped down and reporters crammed around him, he was asked if he felt any pressure beforehand because of all the hype, which included him being called, among other things, "Paul Bunyan," which is how Armwood coach Sean Callahan described him last week.

"No, not really," said Tebow in his soft voice. "I just stayed focused on playing hard.

"That's all."
