"Rosie"

JTempl

Three-Star Recruit
What do we have to do to get rid of Jim Rose? The guy in un-listen-to-able ( I know that's not an actual word, but it's appropriate here). We deserve so much better. I used to love turning down the TV volume and listening to the home broadcast. I stopped doing that last year. Yes...Brent Musburger is more tolerable than Jim Rose. This is the first time that I was forced to listen to this clown, since I wasn't able to go to the game ans it wasn't televised. I got to tell you, I had to force myself to keep listening.

My issues with this clown are twofold.

1. He calls the play-by-play as if you are sitting in the stadium or watching the game with him. I can put up with all him annoying "colorful" metaphors, so long as I get down and distance, the yardline, the time, summary of the personnel package and occasionally the score. I think he assumes we can all just look us at husker vision and see these things...so it's not that important to include them in his commenatary.

2. I can't stand how he has to get in his pre-scripted new way of calling a play or describing the situation is a new flowery way before he actually tells the results of the play. An example:

Rose: "Myers drops back to pass. He throws an arial to the east hash mark...OH....AND THE PASS IS...ALMOST INTERCEPTED BY A SLASHING BO RUUD. That was so close to a turnover on this beautiful Saturday afternoon at Memorial stadium....but the pass is incomplete to Todd Blythe."

All I want is for him to tell me the pass is incomplete. The other information is fine...but the incomplete pass is the important portion of the call. Give me that first!

Am I completely off base here? Maybe I've just decided I can't stand his game calling so it just continues to drive me nuts...but it has to drive others crazy too.

Thoughts?

Two of Mr. Rose's gems today. He said another one about Grixby, but I forget what it was.

I like those audio clips that sound like Rose on helium. I just think about those when I listen to him. I haven't seen any posted this year.

He's is down about the 45...up to the 44...no wait forward progress has him at the 41.

And when the Huskers get a touchdown you have to wait like 10 seconds for him to get it out

He's not too bad though

Lyle Bremser he isn't let alone kent pavelka. I miss gary saddlemeyer the most though.

Would even put him behind Warren.

YES! I can't listen to games because of this. I tried listening to a baseball game in my car last year... I drove for 25 minutes and he never said the score... And, yeah, sometimes he chatters while a play is happening and then give a crappy summary after it's over, then has to hurry to the next one while omitting important info.

I can't stand him. Still, he's better than that guy before him (I can't remember his name, but I remember the A&M game... he was drooling all over the "Wreckin' Crew"... it's like he's cheering for the other team). While Rosie definitely likes the huskers... that's how it comes off... as a "like." "Oh yeah, I like the Huskers, I guess." Listen to local announcers that get played on ESPN-- they go NUTS. I want bias in my local announcers... I want someone yelling the game at me, going insane, and getting me pumped up.

All throughout the fourth quarter I was begging him to say how much time was left . . . didn't get it until about four minutes or so were left.

What happened to Kent Pavelka? He could call play by play like no other. He was quite a homer, but I happen to root for the home team so it was all good!!

the high light of the day was when he said something that went like this

" you can bet those fans in missouri will be lubed up next saturday"

too much, too much :dunno :laughpound :laughpound :o :rollin :rollin :rollin :o :o :o
