This is from another message board by rojo:
Shame on Omaha World-Herald writers Tom Shatel and Dirk Chatelain.
In their efforts to argue “Bo was wonderful. Coz is not,” they have violated truthful reporting and our trust.
--At best: It’s unfair and unprofessional.
--At worst: It’s yellow journalism.
--And sad: That we who look for objectivity instead get “agenda reporting.”
Shatel: (OWH: 10/24/04)
“Nebraska’s ’04 talent... is not drastically different from ['03], save for Demorrio Williams and T.J. Hollowell…. This [‘04] is basically the same group.”
Chatelain: (OWH: 8/21/05)
“Last year’s [‘04] defense returned every significant starter except Demorrio Williams.”
What...??? Shoddy and shameful reporting.
Six 2003 Senior Blackshirts who went to the NFL: (Five are currently still on NFL rosters)
1) Trevor Johnson: (NY Jets, ’04 & ’05)
--A current '05 roster link for Shatel & Chatelain: http://www.nfl.com/teams/rosters/NYJ
2) Ryon Bingham: (‘04—San Diego (Injured Reserve); ’05 active)
--An '05 roster link: http://www.nfl.com/teams/rosters/SD
3) Jerrell Pippens: (‘04—San Diego Chargers; ‘05—Chicago Bears)
--An '05 roster link: http://www.nfl.com/teams/rosters/CHI
4) T.J. Hollowell: (NY Giants, ’04 & ’05)
--An '05 roster link: http://www.nfl.com/teams/rosters/NYG
5) Demorrio Williams: (Atlanta Falcons, ’04 & ’05)
--An '05 roster link: http://www.nfl.com/teams/rosters/ATL
6) Pat Ricketts: (Free agent with Atlanta: waived, re-signed, and waived again in the final roster cut of 8/29/04).
.
That's a very, very substantial core of senior leadership and NFL-quality talent on the '03 squad. And gone from our 2004 defense.
Shatel & Chatelain will not apologize to those players for slighting them. Or to Cosgrove. Or to us. But they should.

PS Now are you sorry for the journalists and their lack of Media Day? Roy
