Serious List of New Head Coach

tom herman coulda delt with all the drama at texas a bit better, but it seems everyone has trouble there.  he did a better job than anyone else since 2009.

would think getting herman before he get's snatched up by someone else would be the thing to do.  only reason he doesn't have a head gig is the belated nature of his firing. he'll have one next year.

obviously other candidates, but i think herman is the best realistic option.

While Herman would not be my first of the more realistic choices, he did inherit a program that was 6-7, 5-7, and 5-7 the three years before he arrived, and he finished 32-18 in 4 years at Texas AND won a bowl game all 4 years.  He would definitely be a step up from what we have.

But if you’re Kiffin would you rather be at Nebraska or Ole Miss….
that's a good question.  he could prolly pull the same type of talent in lincoln, but wouldn't have to play half the season against juggernauts and potential juggernauts.

i think he would at least replicate what bo did.

Which part the 9 wins or the routine blowouts?

Ps. Direct reference to Martinez's UCLA presser when asked about zone read plays on the 1 yard line.

It's funny seeing some of the comments posted especially the reference to the 1970s.  These guys really do not know their history well nor have they ever likely stepped foot in Lincoln.
the lsu fan base has a lot of young people and bandwagon type fans from the last two decades.  they don't know football from last century.

was thinking of the gauntlet that is the sec west compared to the BIG west.  i don't know what to tell ya about beating the BIG east champ.

I mean, me personally? No. But they're a state employee so technically anybody that pays state taxes in Nebraska helps pay their salary.
scott frost doesn't receive a dime from the state.  most high end college programs aren't financed with tax dollars.

I agree that Nebraska could ultimately be an easier/better job but right now it’s not. I just don’t think a guy like Kiffin would leave to take on a rebuild in this point in his career unless it’s for a significant pay raise. I wonder if he’s on LSU’s short list. That’s a job he would leave Ole Miss for.

he would definitely go to lsu.  not sure if he's on their short list or not.

i think the ceiling at ole miss, given the area and competion, is lower than what it is at nebraska.

the right coach at nebraska could really be one upset away from going to the playoff some years.  no good reason we can't win a minimum 8 games a year and win the west at least half the time.

I'd be he's on the list but I feel Tucker will be the pick.  Agree on everything else as well. The right coach applies a healthy amount of pressure on the division and could recruit well enough in the areas the other teams in the west struggle to beat an east team in a one game scenario.
