Do you guys seriously believe that I think Bo actually has the defense step aside and clear a way for them to score? You're completely misunderstanding what I'm saying.

some people read the word for word meaning of things just to nit pick. kinda dumb, yea, but oh well, whatcha gonna do?

that's easy. :)

type what ya mean.

there is an edit button in case you don't.

I guess a guy could even read what he/she posted first, try to see how it sounds.

this is a print media. you can't get voice inflections or facial expressions... you are pretty much left with the literal posts.

unless you want to go down that slippery slope of interpreting what a poster "really means".

that can get problematic.

Let doesn't necessarily mean they purposely gave them the points. But if you are out there trying to stop a score and you don't, then you LET them score. People are nitpicking.

Why do some people on here always act like these posts are being handed in for a grade and pick them apart. I thought this board was setup so we could talk football! I guess it makes them feel really smart or something, I personnally find it quite annoying!

Even if Pelini "lets" the offense score first it sure is a breath of fresh air seeing our defense adjust. At some point I will get used to the "D" making corrections but I still think "here we go again" whenever the opposing team gets a quick score.

I still get that "here we go again feeling", and in games like OU, and MO that feeling was right.

We still need to come out strong against top competition if we want to be considered a top 25 team.

We're not close yet, but if we can put together a 4 quarters mostly mistake free game against Clemson, it could set us up for top 25 consideration next year.

We will need to shut down the perimeter runs (our defense has been weak in that area) keep our lanes in the kick off team (or kick it into the endzone)

and cut-down on blown pass defenses. We can maybe give up one big play a game but any more than oneor two, in games like Clemson, VT, and MO type games and we can not win. In games with the big boys (OU, Texas, T.Tech, OSU) we need to play perfect games, and in the case of OU- they have to also make 2-3 major mistakes for us to win- we need more talent for that not to be the case.....OK I'm done now

It would be big momentum for next year if Nebraska wins against Clemson without playing sloppy

A nice quality 4 quarters would go a long way to showing the earth that Nebraska has indeed improved. The game against Colorado didn't really do anything except provide some great football entertainment (and a near death experience for Husker fans - I don't think I've ever hugged that many men in my life). I think the program has momentum - now let's keep it going and win on Jan. 1 then sign a top 15 class in Feb. GBR

I agree! I think that some of the starters in the secondary in the heat of battle would revert to what they have known over the past couple of seasons. The games against MO and OU had a Cosgrove/Elmassian feel to them. I think that next year as we get some newer players on the field, and those who were coached by the previous staff get more comfortable with the Pelini system, we will see improvement.

All those teams scored first, and most of those teams did it with big plays. KU didn't score first but they did score on a 53 yard play and were tied at the end of the quarter. Baylor of course had two long TD's in the first quarter, and we know what OU and CU did with their first couple of plays.

My point is, what if we figured out the offense prior to the start of the game?

What if we played error free football all game?

yeah I know this is a softball- pie in the sky post, but if we happen to put together 4 quarters of somewhat penalty free, and one or less turn-over football we'll win by 3 TD's

It's nice that we seem to be able to adjust as the game goes on (expect for OU and MO) but we tend to make things easy in the first half.

We have yet to play a complete game against a quality opponent this year... maybe in 2009 we will.
just a sign of immaturity at certain positions, namely dbs...
