Even if Pelini "lets" the offense score first it sure is a breath of fresh air seeing our defense adjust. At some point I will get used to the "D" making corrections but I still think "here we go again" whenever the opposing team gets a quick score.
I still get that "here we go again feeling", and in games like OU, and MO that feeling was right.
We still need to come out strong against top competition if we want to be considered a top 25 team.
We're not close yet, but if we can put together a 4 quarters mostly mistake free game against Clemson, it could set us up for
top 25 consideration next year.
We will need to shut down the perimeter runs (our defense has been weak in that area) keep our lanes in the kick off team (or kick it into the endzone)
and cut-down on blown pass defenses. We can maybe give up one big play a game but any more than oneor two, in games like Clemson, VT, and MO type games and we can not win. In games with the big boys (OU, Texas, T.Tech, OSU) we need to play perfect games, and in the case of OU- they have to also make 2-3 major mistakes for us to win- we need more talent for that not to be the case.....OK I'm done now
