Nebraska senior forward Leslee Smith returned campus Monday after he injured his knee during a tournament in the British Virgin Islands last week.

Smith reportedly hurt his left knee in a game Thursday. The severity of the injury is unknown. Husker coach Tim Miles confirmed with The World-Herald Monday that NU's medical staff would begin examining Smith's knee Tuesday.

Smith was playing in the FIBA Caribbean Basketball Championships, competing on his native country's national team. He'd averaged 8.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in his first two games.

Before joining the Huskers, Smith tore the ACL in his right knee. That was in March of 2011, during his time at SMU.

Abes will/should be fine on the defensive side (That is the transfer, right?)

Hammond is a project...he will be pushed around in the Big Ten

The decision to play Hammond needs to be made early in the year. If he is going to contribute during conference play then he needs to play early to get a feel for college BB. If he is truly 6'10" 240lbs then his size isn't a major issue. He might not be as strong as he will be a couple years down the road.

A lot rides on how Moses is able to come in and play. Is he a player that can be a major contributor on the inside on both ends of the floor? I hope so. I see this injury as a major blow to the team. Hopefully these two new guys can fill in the hole that is left.
