I feel like we are getting lucky in this game rather than playing really well. Some things are good, but I still feel like luck is on our side today so far.
But what I don't understand is when the officials make their own decisions to use instant replay. This time they didn't and ISU got screwed on that TD!The one angle definately showed that Blythe's foot was on the line. That burned McCarney's challenge otherwise he would have had it to challenge the blown TD call and would have won it. That's part of the game. NU sure got some calls tonight.
The officials did blow the call and are still not proficient at using the replay themselves. McCarney could have saved his challenge but chose not to.I don't think the officials can use the replay unless notified by the replay official. As far as I know, the only time they can initiate a replay is for time on the clock or ball placement. I think... :dunno
He did and burnt his challenge.I thought he challenged the catch on third and 29 along the sideline not the touchdown.
