I get what you're saying and I don't necessarily disagree. But your stuck on the "f#*k him, he's not special" mentality. Big picture, he's not. But he is currently, for a couple more weeks, coach of the team I love the most. And he did his job to the best of his abilities, his predecessor can't say that and neither can the man before him. And he has done it in a classy way, something that is becoming rarer every year unfortunately. I genuinely respect Riley and I don't say that with rose colored glasses, I liked his work at Oregon State. Granted I didn't love it to the point I ever wanted or thought he would be here, I liked watching his Beavers beat USC on Thursday nights over Penny Pitchers at the Milligan bar.
So all in all, it's a "we're not mad, we're just disappointed" situation. Don't confuse respect for praise.
