That's fine. I'm believe he will eventually have to choose which one and he won't play both sports his entire college career. And, I'm fine with either one as long as it's as a Husker.

But...until he chooses, I believe his growth in either sport will be diminished.
His film is unbelievable. This is 1 HS player that could get some playing time as a freshman in both sports. Basketball he was conference player of the year.

I think it’s unfortunate when a kid thinks he’s going to play both. He wouldn’t join the BB team till third of the season is gone. Then, let’s say husker BB continues to me great. This year, our spring game is the day of the elite 8 games. So, he would be missing all of spring ball for football.

Just seems like it prevents him to be as good as he could be at either sport.
Strongly disagree here regarding football players doing extra sports. I love multisport athletes when the physical skills are complimentary. Spring ball is great but having an additional season of working on a competitive mindset is even better.

I love multi sport athletes as they are developing. I think it’s very important. A few years ago I saw a stat that showed the vast majority of football players that were drafted, played multiple sports in HS.

However, their ability to contribute to any one sport in college when playing two in college really limits them.

A possible exception is if the player tells one coach that the other sport takes precedent. Otherwise, what described above happens.

So, say Indiana has a player that also plays basketball. Is he not going to join the team till after tonight? If so, how is that not taking away from his ability to contribute and develop as a basketball player?

OK guys, we might have a problem. I've hearing rumors that if LSU doesn't make the NCAA tournament that the basketball coach is going to be fired.... their #1 target for new coach? Fred Hoiberg. You heard it here first

Hoiberg does not want to live in Louisiana. Not for all of the money in the world. Hoiberg will be the top candidate for every coaching job for the next 5 years. He may move on for the right money/opportunity, but not to the Bayou. Some things don't make sense. Him staying here forever actually makes much more sense, and I'm as skeptical as anybody that we can keep him here.

Hoiberg may also enjoy building the program his Grandfather also coached at

Hopefully Hudson comes and plays for him HERE

Agree. I think there might be a chance that this is where he really wants to be and as long as we stay competitive with salary, everybody can be happy for many years. I sure hope so because he is such a badass person/coach.
