You can arrange your own divisions and it gets graded on competitiveness, rivalries, and geography.

A pure geographical split, East-West (OSU;UM;PSU;MSU;PU;UIn, NU;UN;UW;UMn;UIl;UIa) gets an overall grade of A (87):

Competitiveness: B+ (70)

Rivalries: A (90)

Geography: A+ (100)

I found that if you then switch Illinois and Purdue, you get an overall grade of A (90):

Competitiveness: A- (80)

Rivalries: A+ (93)

Geography: A+ (95)

i got exactly that, i did not realize we had the same scenarios. i hope this will be what they decide on for the divisions. as a husker fan, i would be happy to see NU play their division teams every year. that would pan out with some entertaining and exciting seasons.

If you separate them like this:

Division A

- Ohio State

- M*ch*gan

- Penn State

- Nebraska

- Iowa

- Wisconsin

Division B

- Michigan State

- Indiana

- Purdue

- Illinois

- Northwestern

- Minnesota

You get:

Competitiveness: F (0)

Rivalries: B+ (73)

Geography: D+ (29)

Overall: C- (34)

I think we have a winner! :laughpound

The most competitive arrangement I could get (A+, 100) is this:

Division A - Nebraska, Penn State, M*ch*gan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Indiana

Division B - Ohio State, Iowa, Purdue, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Illinois

Unfortunately, it gets D (20) for Rivalries and D (21) for Geography for a C+ (47) Overall rating.

How about a North/South thang?

We can finally be part of the stronger southern division

Blue

- Penn State*

- Wisconsin

- Northwestern

- Minnesota

Gray

- Nebraska

- Ohio State

- Iowa*

- Indiana

- Purdue

- Illinois

Penn State is further south. The map is flat, but the world is not. With Penn State in the South, the divisions get grades of:

Competitiveness: A (88)

Rivalries: A (90)

Geography: B- (55)

Overall: A- (78)

I'm not a fan of it because Ohio State and M*ch*gan are in separate divisions.

The "gun barrel" of Mass has the same latitude of Northern Nebraska.

or latitude and longitude of cities the bigger number is farther north

I split em' up like so,

Div. A: OSU, MU, PSU, MSU, ILL, UI

Div. B: NU, IOWA, WIS, MIN, NW, PUR.

Grades, Comp: A-, Riv: A+, Geog: A+, Total: A (90)

This is pretty close to how I think the divisions need to be split. Any other way and I think the Big10 breaks what should be their number one priority, which is K.I.S.S.
