in my house this is the most common phrase yelled at the tv.

"Hey ref are you f*cking blind that was holding."

Then at the end of the game.

"Well we lost again cause of the damn refs."

 
Top 10 Reasons we arent good

10-Bo Pelini doesnt care about black people (submitted by Kanye West)

9-Tom Osborne set the bar to high and or low

8-The y dont sell beer in the stadium

7-Smokers built Memorial stadium and you cant smoke in it. ITS OUTSIDE!

6-Bobby Bowden left an upper decker in east stadium that lingers to this day

5-Theres not enough cowbell

4-Bill Callahan is actually two elves stacked ontop of eachother

3-Santa put us on the naughty list after Frank got too frisky

The idea for this thread came from seeing #9wins. That happened to be in Foppa's post, but this is not a response to Foppa or anyone specifically at all.

The art of making excuses dates back decades among our fans. That's what this is about.

 
The excuses I probably use most are lack of in state talent and college tuition costs. I help coach high school track out here in western NE, and I can tell you that for the most part we don't have the athletes we did 20-30 years ago in central to western NE. I don't see a Conneally rambling down the track anymore. I don't see a Scott Frost dominating the shot put and then dominating the hurdle events. The other thing that has really hurt is college costs. What little talent we do have in NE typically elects to go play where they're offered a scholly rather than walking on at NE. This started happening towards the end of TO's reign and when Solich took over. We had some great walk on players during the NC run like the Mackovichas, Schlesinger, Tomich, etc. It doesn't appear we're getting the quality of walk on players we did several years ago.

 
What about the fact that Bo's cat had apparently been held hostage for years? And this fact was covered up by both the school and the coach? How many games did we lose because our head coach was worried out of his mind about the well-being of a feline?

Hmmm . . .
