The Republican Utopia

I'm glad we are getting the smartest President in the history of the world.  When he takes office, he will then let us know about the mysterious drones that flew over western Nebraska and Eastern Colorado during his last term....right?

I mean, clearly the military and President do know.

Now, will they ever actually tell us?  Probs Not.
I can't imagine them not knowing.  Otherwise, I would think they would be doing everything they could to shoot one down and figure it out.

One frustrating thing about all of this is the fake crap around it.  We have a bunch of people creating AI videos and claiming it's real.  We have people taking shaky cell phone videos of airplanes and claiming it's UFOs.  You have others making s#!t up at they "know" and claiming whatever the story is behind it.  It's extremely hard to tell what is real and what isn't in the entire story.

But, let's take one story that's made it around the interwebs.  It's that during the Ukraine war, a nuclear warhead went missing and authorities have reason to believe someone is trying to sneak it into the US.  These drones are ones that detect radiation and they are being flown over areas they think might be a target of the warhead to try to find it.

OK.  First off, Ukraine didn't have nukes.  So, that part of it just makes me want to throw this story in the trash.

But, let's say this is really the true story.  Wouldn't it be reasonable for the government not to alarm everyone by announcing this and causing mass hysteria throughout the US? Wouldn't it also be reasonable to suspect that, whomever has it, it might be good to not let them know, that we know, and what capabilities we have of finding it making it much easier for them to evade those technologies?

So, let's say all that is true, wouldn't it NOT be some grand conspiracy theory that the government isn't telling us and they are actually doing what is necessary to protect us?

Again, I don't believe this to be true.  But, just for discussion purposes.

This is great!  Going on and on about how the President should tell them, they deserve to know.  Press ACTUALLY does their job and asks "well, haven't you been briefed on it?" and he answers "no comment".   What a joke!

Great...I thought I outgrew my anxiety over nukes...

You could tell me the drones were part of a U.S. military exercise, a foreign entity spying on us, or a new Amazon delivery system and they'd be equally credible.

Is this one of those "secrecy" votes like the Jim Jordan house speaker votes, where anonymity allows Republicans to admit how much they hate the guy?
I think it’s fine they release the report.   We paid for it.   Now while they are at it, release every other ethics report too that hasn’t been released.

OH...wouldn't this be fun?
We're all slaves to the bottom quartile of America's dumbest people. Musk isn't going to become Speaker, of course, but this is a symptom of a larger problem.

Furthermore, Musk not wanting to pass a budget and then tanking it is really dumb. I find it unfortunate that the biggest hangup seems to be disaster relief, but I say strip it from the bill and let North Carolina pick themselves up by their bootstraps. They voted for idiot leadership, so they deserve idiot leadership.

Lastly, if we shut down the government, we need to actually shut it all down. No more social security payments, no more Medicare, no more TSA/FAA agents to run the airports. Let the American public see what it's like to not properly fund agencies.
