Armstrong seems like a good kid, but lets not convince ourselves he's the next great Husker QB. Outside of one pass play, yesterday he was 5-13 for 64 yards with a TD and an INT. Not exactly highlight reel stuff. I realize he is young and can improve, but I just haven't seen much from him yet that would make me think he's the guy. He plays well enough at times, but also has terrible accuracy in the short passing game.
I don't know that he will be great but (in this game at least) I was impressed with his pocket awareness and I thought that he made generally sound decisions with the football. Also, he's the best option QB that we've seen in some time.
His stats are hurt by some pretty bad drops. Turner's being the most obvious. TA can't really throw that pass much better. Of course, his stats were helped my some good catches on iffy passes as well.
I've never played QB or coached the position but I think that it's probably easier to improve accuracy on short passes than trying to fix the type of brain farts that we saw from our last QB.
