1994 vs. Colorado -- For a couple of reasons. It was NU's 200th consecutive home sellout game. CU was ranked #2 and NU #3. NU was being led by backup QB, the late Brook Berringer (RIP) who played spectacularly. NU 24 - CU 7

Another great game that we ended up losing was 1991 Washington. We had the lead late in the game against the #2 Huskies and it looked like we had the game in the bag, up 21-9. Then the Huskies rattled off four TDs in the final quarter to win the game. Steve Emtman and Billy Joe Hobert played in that game for Washington.

Also forgot to mention another significance to the 1959 victory vs. Oklahoma is that it was Bud Wilkinson's first loss to a Big 8 conference opponent since he took over the OU football team in 1947.

Do we have anything that doesn't involve Oklahoma? starting to think that was a one-sided rivalry as well. Ask Colorado their top 10 games and it would be the ones they beat us in, just like we spew off a list of OK victories. (same w/ the top plays) Ask Oklahoma their top 10 games and Nebraska maybe makes 2 of them I bet.

1959 Nebraska vs. Oklahoma (Ending the Streak)

1962 Neraska vs. South Dakota (Game one of the Devaney Era)

1977 Nebraska vs. Alabama (Osborne vs. The Bear)

1994 Nebraska vs. Colorado (#2 vs. #3 and 200th consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium)

1991 Nebraska vs. Oklahoma (The End of Sooner Magic)

1987 Nebraska vs. UCLA (Taylor vs. Aikman)

2001 Nebraska vs. Notre Dame (Crouch starts his Heisman campaign)

2008 Nebraksa vs. Colorado (The Kick and the Pick)

2001 Nebraska vs. Oklahoma (Black 41 Flash Reverse)

1978 Nebraska vs. Oklahoma (Osborne finally beats Switzer)

one other of significance:

Sept 20th 2001 Nebraska vs. Rice (one of the very first sporting events to take place after 9-11)

It's all subjective. It's called selective history. ;)

I grew up celebrating with a large group of family members on the traditional NU-OU Thanksgiving games. Those were always the most memorable games for obvious reasons. Even the heartbreaking losses (which were many) during the Osborne-Switzer era were memorable. Bear in mind that while Osborne was 5-12 against Switzer, the record alone doesn't tell the whole story. In 8 of those losses, NU was leading OU at the half. That's where the "Sooner Magic" phrase came from. Osborne could've been 13-4 against Switzer, but "Sooner Magic" found a way to bite him in the butt 8 times during that 17 year stretch. This is why that game had so much meaning during that era.

NU vs. OU since the Devaney era (1962-present)

And I'd bet you'd be wrong. (remember the RRR isn't a home game)

Nebraska's list of course is going to be OU heavy with some B8,B12,OOC games thrown in. Just like OU's would be NU heavy with OSU being 2nd and some B8/B12/OOC games rounding it out. If Nebraska had a second school in the state we'd have an Okie Light too, we don't so our top is a little bit more OU heavy than OU's would be Nebraska heavy, but not by much.

Simply put when you have to take bowl games, neutral site games and road games out, Nebraska and Oklahoma are going to both have a lot of games featuring the other on the list for the sheer reason that they were the regular season conference game that had the most riding on it nearly every season and every other year it was a home game.

Edit: Though when I put my list together it only included 4 Nebraska/Oklahoma games.. I did expect it to be more. I'd say an OU list would have 3-4 Nebraska/Oklahoma games on it as well. - Especially ones where they were throwing oranges.

I don't think we have to be overly concerned about objectivity. It sounds like every Big Ten school will get their own episode and the best plays/games at their home stadium are picked by their fans. I'm sure the Michigan episode will be heavily dominated by Ohio State games and vice-versa.

just goes to show you how crappy/meaningless most of the other Big8/Big12 North games were throughout our history. Our "all time wins" number is slightly padded IMO :)

Every conference has patsies, though. To say our wins are padded you'd have to say the same thing about Michigan, who played Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Northwestern every year. Most years Sparty is down rather than up, and Wiscy has been hit-and-miss over the years. Iowa has been down a lot, especially in the 90s. Purdue has had a few decent years in the last couple of decades as well.

There are very few teams with tons of wins who can say they earned the bulk of them against top opponents.

2006 Nebraska vs. Texas

I was at that game, the satdium actually shook it was so loud. Then on top of that it started to snow late in the second half. We lost, but it was an electric atmosphere.
This is the second time you've beat me to what I was going to say. First the Nate Swift punt return against Va. Tech, now this. Glad we're on the same page.

Was going to post this, too. I was on the east side 'round about the 25 in the student section and it was bananas. I've never hugged so many strangers in one day. You had blocked kicks, trick plays, a freak snow storm, late-game drama, costly turnovers, etc. That game was an instant classic and I'll never forget it. Too bad Terrance Nunn couldn't hold onto that ball.

Few extra games I'd throw in.

1983 vs Penn St. A 44-6 a$$ whooping that allieved some of the pain of the screw job the year prior that probably cost TO his first National Title.

1988 vs Barry Sanders. A 63-42 defensive no show. Barry was held in check for the most part, but provided glimpses of what he was yet to become.

1997 vs Boomer. The last of the series before the two year hiatases that the Big XII inflicted to the rivalry. It was TO's 250th win and the biggest party seen in a long time after a 69-7 absolute thrashing

1998 vs Washington. #2 vs #9 GameDay was in the house, and Frankie administered a 55-7 a$$ kicking

OU would have alot quite a few Nebraska games, but probably more Texas games than any other team, just because its their biggest rivalry. but Nebraska would be in there quite a few times also
