****UCLA Game Day Thread****

UCLA put 42 on Penn State. NW and NU held UCLA to their lowest points this year.

So which PSU D shows up?

Rhule has more wins at NU to date in Y3 with 3 more games to play than Frosty in 5 years. So ugly but better so far.

I miss our D linemen that freed up other players. I think they would have gotten enough push and help contain the UCLA QB. Or at least sack him a couple times instead of not tackle him. A couple of those 3rd and longs beings stops and this game gets out of UCLA's reach. But they scored with long enough drives they ran themselves out of time.

A deeper OL and DL moves this team up a couple notches. OL played a decent game today. No TFL and sacks. Running was downhill. Last drive killed the clock. Won another one score game.

What I am seeing is we don't have the horses up front on either side of the ball like most SEC schools have. Watched 3 different SEC games today and they all have massive line players. Is that player development or is that recruiting or both? SEC has the line players, even on there bad teams. We know. that playbook, because we wrote that playbook in the 80's and 90's. Why are we not following that anymore? I like the win tonight, but watching us barely beat a very mediocre team in the Big 10 tells me that football is down right now, and the SEC really does have better teams from top to bottom and playing in that conference week to week does deserve some praise. I would say that there bottom 3 teams would be 8 win Big 10 teams this season if not better .
