Uh-Oh John Blake

Butch Davis likely feels betrayed that John Blake didn't hook him up with the agent.

watch out....

Blake’s phone records show him in some cases calling a number for Suh’s sister, Ngum, immediately before or after calling Wichard. For example:
» On Nov. 5, Blake had a one-minute communication with Ngum Suh’s number at 7 p.m. At 7:02 p.m., Blake called Wichard’s cell phone and talked for 19 minutes.

» On Dec. 7, Blake had a call for six minutes with Ngum Suh’s number at 7:12 p.m. At 7:18 p.m., Blake called Wichard’s cell phone and talked for 15 minutes.
linky dinky doo

The rest of the article plays this down a bit. Where NU would get in trouble is not if Suh had inappropriate contact, it's if they knew about it and didn't take appropriate measures to prevent it. The article seems clear that once Bo found out about Blake's contact with the Suh family, he had someone "contact" UNC (I read that as Bo having someone tell UNC to have Blake knock it the &$%# off).

If the NCAA finds fault with Nebraska over Blake, it'll be minor.

Found another article HERE that says there were a total of 19 contacts between Blake and Ndamukong or Ngum from about January through the draft:

Records show that Blake continued to call Suh or his family members after Suh selected an agent in late January -- all the way through and beyond April’s NFL draft.
It's largely the same article, but with a bit of a UNC slant.

Blake recruited Ndamukong and knew Ngum before he recruited her brother. It's possible he was just chatting as a friend of the family....... but those immediate calls to Wichard don't look good. Regardless, it doesn't look like wrongdoing on the part of Suh or his family. They can't control what Blake does.

This is not over for Nebraska. The NCAA will probably be coming by and possibly to Okla as well. Screw your friends and embarrass your family. What a real dirt bag, Blake turned out to be.

GBR!!!

its still unsettling. how much more is going to come out? ya know?
I agree. We'd like to think the program is squeaky-clean, but we all know it isn't. There are violations every year, most probably very minor, but anything can give us a black eye.

It sucks that our best player in a decade now has this connection to Blake, who looks dirty, and through Blake to Wichard, who looks very dirty. And you never know if there's more, like you say.

Let them come. We have nothing to hide. Blake was not acting on behalf of UNL, or UNC for that matter. The Tarheels fired him as soon as it came out how involved he is with this agent. If he was up to shenanigans at Nebraska they'd have to prove that we knew about it and either approved of it or turned a blind eye to it as an institution. On top of that, we've already fired the head coach and the AD who brought that staff in. While they could punish us now for malfeasance back then, with our track record I doubt it comes to that.

I am not afraid of NCAA sanctions. It will have to get FAR worse before I'm concerned about that.
