Usc Calling Their Defense Blackshirts

Walk-on
Hi All,

First post here. I was checking out the USC board and was suprised to see them referring to their defense as the Blackshirts. I've always considered that synonymous with the Huskers. Guess they can't come up with their own nickname so they will try to steal ours. Shouldn't be surprised. Looking forward to the season !!!

From the troubles they've had lately, they should name the whole team the "Orange Jumpsuiters". Let them name their guys whatever they want, Big Red Nation know who the Blackshirts are.

:restore

ya know what no one besides us husker fans think that nebraska has a shot in beating those magotts from sc if they think that they can just go around and use the blackshirt name well using it is one thing but owning thats diffrent so come the time of september 16 they will find out what its like to be HIT BY A BLACKSHIRT!! :steam :steam :steam

The "real" Blackshirts. I suppose that simply calling yourselves something a mere 3 weeks before the game classifies it as being real. I'm going to start calling myself Mr. President. Then I will finally be able to run the country. GREAT logic.

It's hilarious how you don't understand the premise behind USC calling themselves the Blackshirts. In reality, USC doesn't call themselves the "Blackshirts." Every year during training camp they play a intersquad scrimmage whereby the 3rd team that the 1st and 2nd units are playing against are called the blackshirts.

So now you know something new about SC.

If you want to put it that way, yeah. We don't really have nicknames, we just go out there and try to give the best effort possible. All the "nicknames" were given by the media. I've never called Reggie "The President."

When did they call Reggie the President??

I bet someone could come up with a GREAT nickname or two for Booty...

Funny that their defense is better than the real "blackshirts" defense. Man it feels good to be a USC fan. :horns2
Really? Did it feel good to be a USC fan from 1996 to about 2002? Or did it feel good for the solid 15 years Notre Dame owned your a$$? I bet it felt great to back Traveler, Tommy Trojan and the gang during the Larry Smith era, or losing to Fresno St. in a bowl game? Becuase that in a nutshell was the 90's for the University of Spoiled Children.

And your coaching was great. That explains the refusal to spy a LB on young during the Rose Bowl. Or going for it on 4th all those times. Or wasting valuable practice time to throw a LenDale White dummy off a building. Or even the legal problems swirling around your rennicance players.

I am so sick to death of the USC propaganda out here I could vomit. That decrepit stadium was half empty for a decade and now its a red carpet walk. USC alums would openly support other teams only to rock the maroon pom poms up and down the 5, 110, 80, hell pick a freeway.

Wait one year of 3 losses (could be as soon as this year) and watch your fanbase disappear, again.

Whoa whoa whoa...getting a little defensive there. That was a harsh post wasn't it?? And yes I do remember the down years. That's what makes the good ones so special. Every team has some embarassing years, games, and quarters. We've had our good fair share. Along with the fact that our program was in shambles when Paul Hackett left. I remember when CU crushed Nebraska like 60 something to a little. It happens.

I remember when USC actually sold out their stadium... oh yeah, it is this year for the nebraska game. You guys are really gonna show your true colors as fans when you allow 30,000 screaming husker fans to buy up your tickets. Want an idea of what it will be like, see the last time Nebraska played ND in Notre Dame. We probably put more huskers in the stands in one game than you guys have in the past 25 years combined.
