You've got to be high to think this is one of the top teams offensively. Inconsistant, error prone. Poor Poor Poor offensive line play. We've been lucky.

I like Martinez ... I think he is playing with real heart. I think Tim Beck show flashes of brilliance but has to take the blame for the inconsistant play and he is a an inconsistant play caller. He only has two years expirience as an OC so in that aspect he's above average a fast learner (with a lot to learn).

If Burkhead was healthy this might be another story. Considering that the offense (other than the line) is doing okay but not great.

I disagree that he is is an inconsistent play caller. He isn't the one telling guys to fumble, or for Taylor to thrown an INT, and if the guys knew how to maintain ball control, our numbers would be even better than what they are now, but unfortunately, that is not the case. Taylor being close to 70% completion, and we are ranked high on rushing yards per attempt. I think our play calling is just fine, not perfect, but who in this nation has called a perfect game? Every coach has a couple bad play calls during each game. Then again, you don't see what he sees. You just see the play not working, as he sees an assignment blown, or a coverage he wasn't expecting.

I think Poor poor Oline play is a little harsh. I think we want them to be more consistent but for everyone in this thread having a discussion about how good our offense is, at least statistically, calling our Oline terrible doesn't fit the equation. No matter how so called lucky you think we are, the numbers don't lie.

I am with you, I don't think our O-line is an issue. They had one bad game, UCLA, and they have picked it up since. There are guys that get in occasionally unblocked, but thats just part of the game, and trying to understand the defense, on who is coming, and who is going to drop back.

Beck called the 4th quarter of the UCLA game terribly IMO. That's where he gets the inconsistent thing. The guy goes down by 7 and starts airing it out when we're running all over them. Taylor isn't throwing a lot of INTs, but when he does it's frequently because Beck is forcing something that isn't there because he'd down and seems to panic. Since then he's been pretty good. Ohio State could have been called a little different IMO. Especially after the long Braxton run. Should have started pounding the rock, 3-4 yards at a time...ate off 6 minutes of clock and let the defense put that big play behind them. He panicked, pass, pass, interception. Game over. Couple of other times, like 1st and goal on the 4 and you pass the ball?

He's better than last year I'll give him that. But when we're down, he becomes unpredictable and deviates from the game plan.

And your OSU comment, you control the clock when your in the lead, and putting 437 yards against a good defense with having 4 turnovers, Beck had NO control over, I think that game was well called offensively. Like I said, he doesn't control these players by a remote. He calls the plays, they are expected to execute it, or in Taylor's situation, get rid of the ball if there is nothing available.

I will agree UCLA game wasn't great play calling, but the players turning the ball over, again not Beck's fault.

I didn't know there was only one player he was allowed to throw to, my bad! I didn't know coaches say "Hey if you don't see anything open, force it in double or triple coverage".... Oh wait... THEY DON'T! I thought we were talking about this year. Your posts are completely worthless and make little sense. I am going to stop here, because if I don't this will turn into another 20 posts, of pointless arguments with someone who is always trying to prove something that he obviously knows nothing about. Coaches telling kids to force plays and potentially causing a turnover... Lol epic.

I'm kind of burnt-out on the Martinez era. He's all-time in yardage, but he's probably all-time in low football IQ.
