Now you're just being unfair. Whether any of you want to admit it or not, you do have to look at the year prior to a new coach to have a fair comparison. Last year, Nebraska was 10-3. The year before Stoops, Oklahoma won only 3 games. I believe if my stats are correct, he actually won 7 his first year but he may have only won 6.
My question is this: We are breaking all kinds of records this year. Unfortunately, they are the wrong kind of records. If we do not beat CU, we don't go to a bowl game. Would you have rather had Solich coaching this year and probably saw an 8 or 9 win season and a bowl game, or would you rather end up not going to a bowl game this year and waiting and praying Callahan pans out?
I don't know about the rest of you, but I have lived through some pretty embarrassing games as a Husker fan. Anyone remember the Orange Bowl when Miami put up 50 on us while we scored 3? However, I don't ever remember being embarrassed nearly as much in one season as we have this year. 70 points put up on a Husker D! 30+ points put up on the Husker D from an offense ranked last in the Big 12! I almost hope we lose to CU so the bleeding can stop early this year.
I agree with both sides. We do need to give Callahan a chance. Cosgrove is an idiot, but hey he is on the staff so we'll have to live with him. We do need to fire Pearlman and Pud ASAP. These guys could mess up a wet dream. I find it interesting that the whole University is struggling. Enrollment was down 12 percent this year. I realize this has nothing to do with the Football program, but it does say a lot about those who are running UNL. I'm a proud alum, but I'm not very proud of Pearlman or Pud. These jokers are not only jeopardizing Husker Football, but are also jeopardizing the University!
