What food won’t you eat because of it’s texture?

Got the idea for this topic from a Buzz Feed article.

Mine is red kidney beans. Reminds me of biting into a cockroach. Tough and dark on the outside, squishy mushy on the inside. I will eat all manner of other beans, pintos etc. but not kidney beans. I’ll pick every last one out of chili. I don’t use them in my chili.

Canned peas are another one. For some reason my mom made those gross LeSueur canned peas about once every 2-3 weeks when I was a kid and you had to clean your plate before you could leave the table. I found numerous ways of getting rid of those things without actually eating them. The lasting legacy was, I never forced my kids to eat anything they didn’t want to. May have made them try a few things but after that it was up to them.

Is dark a texture? I assume cockroaches would have a bit of a crunch? UNLESS YOU KNOW SOMETHING I DON'T.

It’s what I assume biting into a cockroach or cricket would be like. Dark was just further explaining how the kidney beans look like a cockroach.

No, I do not have prior experience….not entirely anyway. I once got a pepsi/coke from Arbys and partially into drinking it thought my straw was plugged up with a small ice chunk. When I couldn’t clear it, pulled my straw out to discover I had sucked a cricket halfway into the bottom of the straw. Glad I checked instead of continuing to suck harder on it.
