Either you're a massive troll, or you are f'ing clueless.
I hope we can meet face to face someday. So we can discuss this.
Save it for the Iowa fans, you guys. Don't let the offseason get you down!
I just dont' appreciate people trashing others that they know nothing about, especially making sh#t up that isn't true. Steve's a good guy, and works his butt off. Dude bleeds husker red.
It’s fine and nice that you’re a pal of the guy. But when I read the article it seems like he is starting in on Beck’s offense before Beck has even shown us anything. Did I miss something in my post above, explaining my position? And so what if I don’t like what some hack writer has to say, and I criticize the writer. Does that make me a troll? Is that what a troll is—the guy who sticks up for our new OC who has been on the job for all of one month? You’ll have to explain this to me. Due to me being f’ing clueless and all.
especially making sh#t up that isn't true.
What is it in my post above, explaining my position, that is untrue?
Well, considering that not one other person that has read that story is seeing what you are, I think the problem is you. In no way is he criticizing Beck's offense, and that's where you are making sh#t up. It's quite simple to understand. Everyone is expecting a completely different offense, but in his opinion, it's going to look more familiar than different, i.e. similar formations and plays. We aren't coming out in the flexbone. The difference lies in how the offense is taught, the terminology used, and the ability to audible and use option routes.
One thing Bill Callahan took issue with was the assumption that this huge playbook of his was what he went into every game with. It wasn't. What that eight-pound juggernaut was, was his playbook. It was all his stuff. Out of film review of the upcoming opponent, they found the stuff that they felt would work the best. So, maybe eight pounds becomes four pounds. Heck, maybe it's a pound and a half. But it wasn't the entire thing.
However, the players still had to know the whole thing.
I would guess the "whole thing" is what will get chopped, hacked and diced to the point that even if you feel you have to have the entire playbook out there for the week of practice as you prepare for the next opponent, it's not going to be something the players will find overwhelming. It's not so simple that everyone will be able to figure it out with just a couple of game films to review. But it's not so complex that you have to go away from what you normally do in order for college kids to get it one week to the next.
You call steve a Husker Hater and a douchebag. Based on what? Your inability to read? He's stated that he thinks Beck will do well as an OC. I'm not a friend of steve, but I visit and post on scout quite often. He does a good job. Your nonsensical accusations make as much sense as accusing Sean Callahan of being a husker hater.
