Here I go again.... Carnes must redshirt, IMO. We saw what Green was unable to do right out of HS, so lesson learned here. BUT, I completely disagree with RS Green along with Carnes. Green "grew" under fire this season, and will continue to grow vs our Defense in the spring and fall. He will make a strong push to start and he might. If you redshirt him and Carnes, you will have 2 guys of decent ability (hopefully great) and both will have little to no game experience. Along with Turner following, even afer he RS, you could have a 3 way log jam of suppossedly great QBs with only 1yr separating each. If this is the case, you can bet 1 will bolt. Call it selfish, but talent doesn't sit !!!
You play Green now (either 1-2), RS Carnes, then Green as a JR. and Carnes as a RS freshman can battle in 2011. Then RS Turner, and you have created the depth you need to possibly give each one of these guys a chance to start for at least 2 years (except Carnes/Turner will ony be 1 yr apart).
* This doesn't even mention Spano / Martinez, but with the direction that the Off. is appearing to be headed, one would think you want mobility of the guys we are mentioning. Martinez ends up at WR or DB and Spano gets screwed because of style of play.
***** You also RS Rodriquez, no questions here. I will bet that he will not crack the top 2 even after a RS yr. I have said that he is a 2-3 yr project. He WILL be good, but right now, he isn't quick enough or strong enough. He got beat a fair amount in the HS championship game.
Just my opinion
