Your 2025 Nebraska Cornhuskers

How many players participated in games this year?  I’m guessing it’s much less than 105 but honestly don’t know.

We pretty much got everyone not redshirting (and a few who did) in the game against UTEP and N Iowa.  So that's 120-something.

But other than that, It's well below 105.

Thanks Mav. I’m trying to get a feel for who might not make a 105 from the current roster.  Is it mostly walk-ons, plus some scholly guys we don’t hear much about?  And maybe a few guys who we expected more from that haven’t progressed?

I've tried to track our scholarship guys over the years.  Got tougher the last few years with NIL clouding the picture.

But there will go back to being pretty set numbers when we have to be at 105 total.  So I went through and added the entire roster to my spreadsheet for 2025.  Walk-ons are shown in red.  Not all of the guys in red will be gone - Mekhi Nelson, Janiran Bonner, Luke Lindenmeyer, Mac Markway, Grant Seagren, James Williams, Kamdyn Koch, John Hohl and others will still be around - but it will be mostly them.

Missing the juco walk-on qb

I was guessing that 10 scholarships would go to the walk-ons.  There will also be some attrition with scholarship players.

I always appreciated you putting this together!  Bonner listed under WR & TE.  Kai Wallen looks like he will be a Junior next season.  Thanks Mav!

If you're talking about Gramstad, he's listed as a Senior on Huskers.com.  I think he might have an extra year if he wants it but I thought I've read he's likely to move on.

2020 Covid

2021 Freshman

2022 Sophomore

2023 Junior

2024 Redshirt (played in 1 game iirc)

So if he wants to come back and the staff also wants him back, then he has the eligibility.

Are you serious?  Stop celebrating first downs?  SMH.  He doesn't need to loose weight and he will be our starter.  He needs to work on pocket presence and we really need to field two good tackles in '25 to help with that. I'd say he was pretty darn good for a true freshman.  The star ratings are all about projecting NFL likelihood and Dylan's is very high.  I'd love for Coach Holgorsen to hang around for at least another couple years.  As much as I bag on Rhule for certain assistant hires, bringing Holgo in was a great move.

Yes, we don't need a huge celebration for every first down. And yes, Raiola needs to work on speed and mobility.  His passing mechanics are great, but there is always something to improve upon.  I gave credit to Rhule for bringing in Dana and I hope there are major changes in the offseason.  After all, the staff he brought in 2 years ago is 11-13 after 2 seasons.

There are certain posters who are fine with mediocrity...I am not one of them though. More power to you for being content with 11-13 the past 2 seasons.

We can't all be sunshine pumpers like you. I am sure you were one of the ones that wanted to keep Frost as well despite his poor record.  And I was very complimentary of Rhule making the in season change at OC but I would also say he needed to do the same for special teams. The 11-13 record speaks for itself and it appears you are content with this record and believe Rhule deserves no criticism.
