Replacements Thread

I hate to say this, but I don't believe anyone is going anywhere. Cally just signed a deal, SP is too egotistical to admit he made a mistake, and Coz is Cally's bestest friend.

We're stuck with this, I suppose I'd better get used to it...dammit.

I don't really think it is that sad, in this day and age of college football it is going to be very tought to be a national title contender year in and year out. Maybe for a year or 2, yes, but to be a typical top 6-7 team every single year?? Going to be tough, especially for those teams who aren't allready one of them.

Then following the season, we may be best served to have an organized protest on the campus, and see if we can get tens of thousands of people to show up.

How about Joe Glen? Look what he is doing with Wyoming, and what he did at Montana and N Colorado. Not to mention that would get us some Nebraska blood back into the program.
By the time it would take him to fix this mess he would be in his 60's.

Great rationalization.

how about BO?

How about Marty Schottenheimer? Or Bill Parcels? If there's any chance....
NO and NO!!!! They are morons....Parcels would never fit in as a college coach and Marty sucks!!!!!!!!

Marty Sucks?! Jeez..win 14 games in the nfl and you suck? Wow..

Parcells is a great motivator..he's known for it and in addition to proving he can turn a team around and make champions out of them.. Giants in the 80s and he didn't do too bad a job with the Jets' and Patriots either. Plus, he DOES have college coaching experice ... At Hastings College right here in Nebraska, 1964.

Yeah I know, not D1 but still.. he'd have an un understanding of the culture here and I can't think of a reason any recruit wouldn't want to play for him. Anyway, I'd be willing to give him the team if he wanted it.

Great definition of mediocrity.

Nobody is asking for a NC every year. Everybody is asking for no more 49-31's or 41-6's or bad defenses every year.

Where is everyone who said Billy C. is improving? Or where are the people who said USC was an exception, not the rule?

At least most of us are coming out of the Kool-aid induced fog now...

I agree. My Kool-aid has run out and I want a refill! :hmmph

I keep thinking that we could bring in some former Huskers but I wonder if Callahan would go for that. I keep reading quotes from former Huskers that they feel unwelcome.

GBR!!!
Some do, some don't, some are downright crazy (sandman).

From a former husker standpoint, it might be good but I have no idea if these guys can coach or not.

Either way, something's got to be done, and in a hurry...

I know that the "moron" isn't going anywhere in the near future, which is disheartening. The West Coast Offense is going to mar what once was a great program, and this won't be realized by the upper echelon until it's way too late.

On the D side of things, there's no fire. The defense under Cosgrove has become a toothless old dog, that nobody's afraid of...
