I found these stats from SI.com pretty telling:
“After a Bruin three and out, the Huskers took over with 9:58 left. It took them 13 plays and 6:01 to go just 53 yards and score on a Dante Dowdell 1-yard run, but the offense wasted nearly 3 minutes on 8 snaps inside the 10-yard line. Then they missed the extra point as they cut the score to 27-20. Poor clock management and a lack of a sense of urgency didn’t seem to help the cause.”
Many of us were griping where is the urgency yesterday, we acted as if we were the team up 13. Not only do we have a brain dead OC who lacks creativity and rhythm but we seem to have a staff and players that lack basic understanding of clock management. Countless times DR didn’t hike the hall until less than 5 seconds on play clock, countless plays that had no chance of getting a first down.
not only are we bad play wise, but we’re also stupid.
