The comparatively small budget of USAID and the percentage of waste that has been shown within that budget makes your statements highly likely to be wrong. Just because incompetent lawmakers pass large omnibus bills when few of them know what’s actually in them before saying yes, doesn’t mean that money isn’t wasted, ends up being fraudulently spent or abused along the way through the various NGO’s.Unless you're looking at defense, the amount of 'waste' is going to be negligible. This idea that government spending is full of waste is a Republican fantasy that needs to die.
If you really want to open your eyes vs sticking to talking points, OIG offices have already shown that we had $250 billion in overpayments for 2023 (maybe it was 2022). That’s just the cursory amount found by being a once over by OIG. The true fantasy is thinking our money is vastly vastly well spent.
