2025 Alternate Uniforms

I hope they can get some vendors carrying cheap black shirts outside the stadium for this. You know 1/3rd of our aging fan base will be caught off guard if the only advertising is done on social media. I know some of you will respond with they should be provided but obstacles like shirt size, weather, etc make that really hard. It would also cost 500k even if the shirts were only $5 or $6.
The game is November 1st. People will need to be wearing black coats.

I'm more worried about the fans that will just intentionally ignore it. I don't love black/white/stripe outs, but I'd participate if I were attending this game. I think the more stubborn older fans wearing red just because they're mad that we're doing it.
There are already people posting about how they will still only wear red.

I have never worn a coat to a game just because it is so annoying.

But I will go with a T-shirt, long sleeve shirt (sometimes two) and then a hoodie. With gloves.

Then long undies with jeans (No, not carpenter jeans, relax) and two pairs of socks.

That, with beers/booze before and during has always been fine for me.

I would rather be at a cold game...hot games suck

Just depends on the day. Average high is in the 60s on Nov 1st. Below is the weather that week last year.

It could easily be in the 70s, or even 80s. I agree with Teach above- Black T-Shirt over long sleeves if it is chilly. Black sweatshirt if it is colder. Pretty unlikely to be below 50°.

True. But, it can also be a lot colder than that.

I am too old fashioned I guess, I don't like all the alternate uniforms. I like the message that the same uniform year in year out sends (with tweaks for new pad and helmet tech and such).

Oh well, if they win, I'll get over it.

With good messaging, these people are few and far between.

We've successfully gotten 15,000 people to stand on their feet for entire basketball games, which is (as far as I can tell) unheard of.

It’s important to the players and that’s all that matters. It amazes me that alternate unis always creates such an uproar with this fanbase. It’s fun and cool to do something different for at least 1 home game per year. I’m old but apparently not as old and stuck in my ways as anybody opposing this. Support the team, not just your idea of the team. If you’re going to the game and dont like it, tough, STFU and wear black or sell your ticket and stay at home.

Being an iconic brand/look hasn’t done jack for Nebraska, not for at least 25 years anyway. Get with the times and quit being a stick in the mud. I do like this year’s version of alternates and maybe, if the fans embraced it more, the future options will get better than what has historically been weak/poor alternates options. Maybe one day I’ll get my dream of uniforms that look like actual green cornstalks with bright yellow ears of corn on the helmet.

The fan can wear whatever they want to the game. It's their money and their ticket. As you pointed out, if you don't like it, you can similarly STFU or stay at home.
Well sure….if the fan wants to be a jackwagon and not participate in the blackout, they can wear whatever the heck they want. Like you say, it’s their money and their ticket. I just see no reason to go against what the team and school are requesting. If it was me, I’d wear black, cuz why not. To each their own I guess.
