Right now, he is like a hot girl that won't commit to plans for the weekend because...you just never know if something better will come along. He still just won't say he's out.
Matt Rhule is not bad with words and he still won't take his name out of the running.

I thought I heard 20 million or so from Sipple & Sean Callahan going into this year.
How many coaches have flat out said that they're not taking a gig and then ended up taking it? I think he's handling it fine.. and if he wants to leverage it for more NIL, great. It's also his alma mater so I would imagine he's going to be extra careful in his wording. Maybe A. he's offered B. he wants to take it (given what he went through in carolina and what just happened with Franklin) and C. His wife wants to go. All those things have to coexist. He still just won't say he's out.

It's not a big leap. If we play Akron, we beat Akron.
Rhule being Nebraska’s #1 guy gives him leverage for not just NIL but also a restructured contract for himself and his staff.
Based on what, exactly? They beat a 9-win Northwestern that year. They could have easily beat a Nebraska team that was poised to pull off a 6-game losing streak.

A new contract wouldn't guarantee anything other than a larger buyout. This is almost certainly the actual outcome of all of this, on our end anyway.
But the Cignetti news makes me hope it happens sooner rather than later. Something something if you want it you should put a ring on it, or however that goes...
