I have been watched games at 3 of the places ranked above Nebraska. The one I call BS on is Michigan. I went to 2 games there. I guess I didn't find it that special. Like OK, but 4th? Husky Stadium is super cool and loud! U of M was not loud at all, but I think part of it is the way it is constructed. TBH, I was at Uof M more than 10 years ago; it may have changed since then.

UCLA at #9? Yeah, if you want a private dining room.

I wonder how many people voted, it obviously wasn't just her. But the write-up is by a UCLA alum currently covering UCLA sports, and even she only listed basically that is a pretty stadium in a beautiful location. Nothing about the fan atmosphere which IMO is pretty important and something where UCLA would be near the bottom. The other write-ups are specifically not by the beat writers - Mitch Sherman didn't do Nebraska for example. Just kind of bizarre that UCLA got 5 first place votes when this is the first paragraph of the article:
What makes a college football stadium great?

It can be the architecture, sure, and some beautiful scenery doesn’t hurt. But in building a list of the top 25 FBS stadiums by surveying college football writers and editors at The Athletic, it’s clear that what makes venues most memorable are the atmospheres and vibes they facilitate, whether 100,000-plus people are in attendance in Death Valley, at the Big House or in a White Out or less than half as many are in the stands amid leafy settings in West Point, N.Y., and Boone, N.C.

And the write up lists exclusively architecture and scenery:

9. Rose Bowl, UCLA

Capacity:
91,136
Opened:
1923
Big Ten teams can complain about the mileage, but no one deserves pity for a trip that ends beneath the San Gabriel Mountains. If it really amounts to suffering, it has to be the most scenic misery imaginable — where light melts into gold and even a busted coverage appears cinematic. You might park on the edge of a golf course, drink sweating in your hand and grill smoke curling into dry air. By kickoff, mountains blush purple and light gilds every row.

A stadium that feels dug out of earth, the Rose Bowl is California at its purest — sun-faded, stubbornly beautiful and caught in the illusion of perpetuity. Anywhere else, sure … but there’s no justifying travel whining for a trip to Pasadena. Yes, for UCLA home games, not just the Rose Bowl Game itself. — Ira Gorawara

The Rose Bowl is historic, of course, but hella dated and really not particularly attractive, unless you just really like the flowing oval of the bowl or something.

The old lower part of Tiger Stadium with the arches is nice, but it's just plain fugly from the side. We did a way, way better job of facing the east & west sides of Memorial Stadium when we expanded.

Let's keep the misogynistic takes out of the board, please. That's a raw and emotional take, not a logical one. There's no evidence to suggest the refs' genders influenced their ability to do their jobs.

Also:

We do - that's what the Report button is for. It's a lot more helpful than taking shots at the board.

Welcome back.

I get this isn’t the narrative many will accept, however, a female ref shared with me a few years back how she was encouraged (by another minority official in college football) to officiate football because she would be better than the current female refs. Said how the females in college at the time were not promoted on merit.
