If I were a betting man, I'd guess we'll see him some this week and assuming the leg isn't bad on Sunday he starts next week.
Awesome! Just in time for the big road game at Wyoming. ^_^
I just know two weeks ago the plan (if everything went well) was to have him play at least one full game before Wisc. I think they had probably hoped it would be this game and then rest him next week with playing a quarter or two. (That was best case). I don't think we're on the best case, but instead are doing the lets test it theory. Sometimes with an injury you have try it out and see the response, then let it have a healing period and you can get back at it. Like anything else he's got good days and bad. I think some of his "burst" has been diminished, but he's physical enough at the line that he should be able to slow guys down enough to stay with him. If someone gets behind him or fakes him out I think he's going to need some help from the safeties because his change of direction and the ensuing acceleration isn't back. I don't know the percentage but could guess maybe 80-85%. I think he's probably still better not healthy than our other guys just because he's so damn smart at whats happening and in the film room. But it would be ideal to have him 100% (or close) in conference play since that's so much more important.
I'm sure they'll decided Saturday morning based on how he can perform after yesterday's practice. To say he ran around some would be an understatement. I was told they tested the leg out pretty damn hard. Some was good, some was bad. How it is today will tell them a lot more.
