  1. The reason most vegetarians raise their noses up at meat eaters is due to things like the picture above.....It is one thing to disagree and just let it go, but when we have to put pictures of animals murdered, skewed, and roasted its a bit insensitive.....just my two cents....roast away, i should know better than to argue with meat eaters in the midwest....

  2. Best thing about soccer is, you can turn it on and tune it out and keep it as background noise, and there aren't commercials every two minutes. I despise commercials.

    I agree...Unless its a Kate Upton/Nina Agdal commercial....those i dont mind so much....

  3. Speaking of EPL, I cheer for Chelsea FC.....have been a fan for about 5 years....

MLS, Seattle Sounders....took in a game in September....Their fans are wild, it was the best sports experience that i have been to since game 163 between the Twins/Tigers at the Metrodome a few years back.......

I just hope that Chelsea doesn't take away Everton's coach this summer as some rumors have stated.

I would be lying if I said that the possibility doesnt have me a little giddy....

  5. Crossfit? Sorry, don't lie to me, that's NOT a pullup.

I agree and I never kip on any movement. Full arm extension, dead hang pullups for me.

I have been doing crossfit (at home when i have the right equipment) for awhile now......pullups are honestly the biggest pain in the ass for me.....dont know why....deadlifts are fine, clean and jerks are fine, burpees are fine, but pullups make me feel like a beyotch

  6. I didnt wade through the 7 pages of meltdown and whatnot, but here is my two cents...We have capable RBs.....But this hurts quite a bit....Especially losing kids to Kentucky....When you would rather play on a team where V. Marrow is coaching over a Nebraska team with Bo Pelini, it speaks volumes IMO.....I am not a Bo hater, but this does have me worried.....

  7. So your ancestors that settled in this Country hundreds of years ago are bad people because they killed animals to survive?

Refer to the post where I said I am not real high on judging people on their thoughts/beliefs/opinions....

I dont think its necessary at all to kill animals for any purpose....You do....life goes on...

  8. I dont know anyone on this board....I realize everyone has an opinion about everything these days....But if Hedley chooses not to eat meat, why the butchering of his belief?.....Vegetarians are bashed because they talk about their diet, but yet they get bashed even when they dont because we live in the midwest where its natural to not give two sh#ts about animal life....My family doesnt use eat any meat, we also dont use products that are used in animal testing....Its the way we choose to live.....By screaming in our faces "YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT", isnt going to change the fact that some people just do not want to see animals harmed in any way......I understand I am in the minority here, but if i had my way everything from meat consumption to hunting would be eliminated.....I just dont see the point in it.....But if you do, you do....No judgement on my part.....Just ask for the same courtesy back in return

You don't know what you are talking about.

    Ok

That might be the easiest tap out I've seen handed on this board.

I guess I am just not sure how something that I stated is my opinion, could ever be construed to me not knowing what i was talking about?.....I'm not up for debating an opinion of mine, it was stated as just that: my opinion....I dont think its necessary to kill animals for any reason....

    Ok

  10. In college, I managed to score the digits and get a date with a smokin' hot bartender, which was noteworthy because she was always getting hit on by college dudes every night and was used to ignoring such flirtations, and my friends said there was no way she would even give me the time of day.

When I took her out, it came out during the conversation that she was a vegetarian, and when I asked why, she said that she couldn't eat anything with a face.

I was at a loss for words. I looked down at the burger I had ordered, and seeing no face on it, enjoyed eating it and never called her again.

The point is: beauty is only skin deep, but meat is always delicious.

So your thesis of this post is that you gave up possibly getting laid by a "smoking hot" bartender, just so you could enjoy your burger at that particular moment?....Might not be the best decision of your life....But good work nonetheless..

  12. If you can eat tofu, you are a better man that i am.....I cannot stomach that stuff.....Beans, legumes, nuts, quinoa, protein shakes are my source of protein.....I am not 100% vegan also so i will allow myself to eat organic eggs and cheese also.....but i hate eggs....so

It's a texture thing for you, then? I like tomato products, but I don't like eating tomatoes plain. Just don't like the texture at all.

I'm good with tofu, with eggs, stuff like that. I don't eat tofu a lot, but if I go to Hu Hot, for example, it almost always goes in my bowl. The great thing about tofu is that it's just about flavor-neutral, and it takes on the flavor of whatever it's cooked with, so you can pretty easily bulk up a dish with tofu and not gain a ton of calories, but also not lose/alter the flavor much.

I worked with a lot of vegetarians when I lived out in San Francisco. It's worlds easier to be a vegetarian out there than in the Plains, but it's getting easier here. Out there it was as much a fashion thing as anything else, especially with the Americans. The foreigners and expats whom I knew were vegetarians were easy-going about it - like The Dude said up there ^^^, you didn't know they were vegetarians unless you happened to notice what they were eating. They didn't announce it any more than I'd announce the brand of socks I wear.

Funny thing about tofu - in San Fran, there are a TON of "Persians," Iranian expats living in America. They speak Farsi, and the Farsi word for snot is "tof," (and I'm probably spelling that wrong) which sound like the first syllable of tofu, so they would get a big kick out of people eating "snot" when they ate tofu.

It is exactly a texture thing...Like you said, tofu is just a protein filler and grabs the taste next to it...I just cant stomach it....I do however throw it in the bowl at HuHot...Which is the greatest place in the world (or at least South Dakota) for someone with my dietary preference....

I do understand exactly why people think vegetarians act more arrogant about their diet than other people....It reminds me of guys who go to the gym.....It is possible to go to the gym and to eat a certain way without letting the world know about it....All my friends eat meat, the only reason they know I am a vegetarian is when offered a grilled burger in the summer, i would pass and focus on the sweet potatoes/vegetables....I tell people who ask, but i dont expect people to feel the need to accommodate me......

  14. Sorry I am late to the party....I am also a vegetarian....Have been for three years....I was driving down the highway one day and seen a semi load full of cows being lead to slaughter.....Being an empathetic person, it made me tear up.....Quit eating meat that night....Dont miss it one bit.....I dont judge those who eat meat though as i know its the "way of the world".....I like knowing that I am doing my part in sparing an animals life here or there....On my spare time i like to advocate for dog shelters/animal rights.....I realize i am the minority in these parts of the woods (South Dakota).....Take it for what its worth, not here to argue with anyone on how to live their life....Just responding to the OP

Nice to know I'm not alone! I am fairly new to being a vegan/vegetarian. Been about 6 months total. I started out vegetarian and slowly transitioned to being a vegan. Surprisingly I don't think I could go back to cows milk after drinking almond milk for so long. Any good recipes etc you have come across? I have become a fan of throwing a can of rotel and a can of kidney beans into a pan with a chopped onion and a minced garlic clove and serving it over brown rice.

The beef substitutes aren't too bad either. Still struggle with tofu though!

I honestly use a lot of protein shakes to supplement some meals.....i am a big fan of steamed vegetables with quinoa......i use quinoa in about everything.....we also like a lot of vegetable quesos and vegetable casseroles....my wife is the cook in our family, so i would just advise hitting up a website like sparkrecipes.com and putting in vegetarian recipes.....thats where we get the majority of our ideas.....but i would definitely check out quinoa if you havent already

  15. I haven't done a whole lot of research on it so maybe one of you can inform me, but I have heard that for women, having a vegetarian lifestyle, especially during pregnancy, can be somewhat detrimental to the baby's future health. In that the child doesn't receive all of the proper nutrients that a young one should. Any truth to that?

I am not 100% sure on this...My wife is a vegetarian also....She was forced upon it kind of....I think it is healthy for pregnant women, but it is something that has to be done correctly and monitored.....Even as a 30 year old, physically active dude, there are times that i can tell my levels (B12, etc) are getting low....If i "skip" a meal it affects me by quite a bit......If you strive to hit your daily goals in protein, vitamins, veggies, fruits, etc it will all balance itself out......

  17. My two cents....and thats all we each have, so feel free not to bust your nut over it.....

We dont need a mass exodus of coaches right now....I am on the fence about Bo & Co., but our new AD needs to put Bo on notice that we wont stand for 70 point defensive displays and -4 turnover margin games......Bo NEEDS to look to other coaches and take some constructive criticism on how to coach defense....i understand that he probably thinks he knows it all, but he clearly doesnt.....If your schemes are too complex, then make them less complex......if playing the Peso (which we dont i realize) isnt working, then switch it up.....I dont think Bo is a bad coach, i just think he is terrible at adjusting to what is happening around him.....We know we are going to get a heavy dosage of Marshall & Gurley (more-so) come January 1.....FIND OUT WHO STOPPED THEM AND HOW THEY DID IT.....its not that difficult.....if Stafford, Compton, Smith, etc. cant tackle THEN TAKE THEM OUT OF THE GAME......I think the product that gets thrown on the field January 1st might be the most important game of Bo's tenure.....You have to overcome adversity after getting smacked in the face.....If we cant, then we might as well start calling ourselves COlorado.....
