  1. I am reading all the old Batman Graphic Novels....

    I know....im 12...

those are the best. which ones?

I stocked up on some of the classics that i havent read forever (or ever)...The Killing Joke, Year One, The Long Halloween, Dark Victory, and Knightfall...Any others that I missing that you recommend?....I am a bigger fan of the Batman GNs that do not involve Superman/Lex Luthor/etc.....

'the dark knight returns' is another classic, but i believe superman does make an appearance. (i agree though, boo superman). 'arkham asylum' is another good one. so is 'joker'. i've pretty much just used this list.

edit: also, the just made 'year one' into an animated film. pretty awesome if you are into that kind of thing. (which i am). (bryan cranston is the voice of gordon). (but the animated series will always be the best of all, especially 'mask of the phantasm').

Any other Graphic Novels that you have read?....There are a lot of them that I would like to pick up, but i dont want to pick some of them up and they turn out terrible....i heard Watchmen, X Men, and V for Vendetta are real good.....

  3. My sister in law actually goes to school at UCA....went down there for a game because my cousin played for Texas State....It is a small field, but they have a lot of fun tailgating, getting rowdy, etc......i dont think they had anyone on the UCA side that sat the entire game.....

What was bizarre was the fact that they didnt have announcers at the game....they had a student (sitting in the student section) basically just saying things....."Oh nice drop #44" or "Nice tackle Texas State"....it was weird.....and they actually honestly still have "sections" for the African Americans to sit.....The whole state of Ar-Kansas is bass awkwards.......I couldnt get out of there fast enough.....

  4. I apologize for this post ahead of time....its a scenario and one that might not ever see daylight....but with the SEC bias in this country lets say the following happens

    Ohio State goes 11-0

    Boise State goes 11-0

    Oklahoma goes 11-0

    Virginia Tech goes 11-0

Michigan goes 10-1 losing to Ohio State

Alabama goes 10-1 losing to Florida (wins the SEC)

LSU goes 10-1 losing to Alabama

Who are the four teams in the playoff?....Do they really think anyone expects us to believe that the SEC would be left out?....Michigan would have to be the "first" +1 in this scenario dont they?......i guess my point is that they need to take the human element out of the equation.....my guess is that Bama gets in (screwing Michigan and Boise State) along with VT, OSU, and OU?......its just a scenario and one that rarely will happen, but with last nights big revelation that this playoff is the greatest thing to ever happen to college football fans, i would have thought they would have made it a little more air tight than they did......

change for the sake of change isnt progress

  5. I used to be at 265....Im down to 185 and hoping to pop back up to 205 (of muscle hopefully).....The first thing that I did was start eating breakfast every morning and chase it with a glass of water.....get the metabolism going.....i cut out all sugars (besides fruit).....no soda, no candy.....gave up beer....I then gave up eating all meat in general and became a vegetarian (not necessary for losing weight, it was a personal choice for me).....the BEST thing that i can offer to the many great things already posted is to try a grain called Quinoa (keen-wa)......steam it up with some vegetables and it is 100% healthy meal that fills you up and hits on all your nutritional needs.....

oh and hit the gym 6 nights a week...

  6. I am a HUGE Husker fan like most on this board.....My August-January revolves around Husker football (mainly because my NFL Team (Cleveland) is dreadful).....Anyways, some people really need to get into baseball/soccer/hockey/basketball......way too much time on their hands.....Off season analysis is the most pointless thing in the world...everything could change by opening kickoff....it'll be alright...

  7. Question about a couple of you that mentioned the HIIT program. Any recommendations to start up on doing this? Did some reading on this last night and seems pretty extreme if first just starting out, so wondering the best way to begin something like this without injury and/or complete burnout.

Im not an expert on this really, but how i got started in doing it was by going outside (to a football field) with a stopwatch.....i would jog for 5 minutes to warmup....After the warmup, I would do a 30 second sprint (you can tell if you are going too hard)......then lightly jog around for 30 seconds......then repeat until you are shot.....the reason i like this so much is because your body doesnt seem to realize that it is tired as quickly as it does during endurance running......you obviously feel winded and fatigued, but 30 seconds isnt really that long of a period.....so you continue to push yourself.....

I would just start doing it......if you feel the sprints at 100% is too much, tone it down to 90% speed and so on and so forth...GOOD LUCK

  8. Unfortunately, outside of Nebraska, the only championship I can report is the 85 World Series for the Royals... when I was 3 months old. Since then, the Knicks haven't really been close. The Browns have been my team for all of a month now (not that they won anything anyway), but the Jets never won anything in my life. I'm not much of a hockey fan, but I root for the Flyers and Avs, but I can't really say they're "my teams". Heck, even in NASCAR, Mark Martin is my favorite driver, and he's come close, but no cigarillos either.

What prompted your switch to the Browns?

The Tebow thing was what prompted it, but I had just been getting fed up with their management style. I had been mulling a new team since they had hired Bill Callahan, and even though he had left, Rex Ryan's personality really wore on me, and I was surprised how easy it was for me to stop being a Jets fan. I went with the Browns, because I wanted to go with a team I've been pretty indifferent about so that I have no previous feeling clouding my fanhood. I also prefer traditional things, and the Browns are an historic team, with a fanbase that's not much unlike college football fans. Also, at the time, the last team to draft a Husker was the Browns.

As a Lifelong (25 years) Browns fan....welcome to the club....

  9. I also live a few miles from Sioux Falls, SD.....SF Washington is probably one of the top two schools in the state.....The competition level isnt real high though....He will play 4-5 games that will end by halftime due to the mercy rule....He still looks like a good athlete, I agree that his tape probably doesnt do him justice....Hope he's N....
