  1. I just heard so much hype about him being the #1 JUCO CB in the nation and then he comes in and can not even beat out sophmore who is talented but not to the level I was lead to believe Bowman was. They were talking like he was going to start day one. I guess maybe I should give it a game or two and see how it plays out. Maybe Grixby has improved that much, I hope so. Well, Grix was a 4 star recruit and Bowman was a 5 star. To me, 4's & 5's are pretty much interchangeable. Plus, Grix has had an extra year in Elmo's system.
  2. That makes more sense. So I guess Backin2005 jumped to a conclusions there. We all do at times (ha, ha).
  3. It looks like Bowman is going to be another JUCO Bust. I had such high hopes for him. I agree. All we need is another Brian Knuckle(head)s.
  4. From omaha.com. No mention of LeFlore to CB though: LINCOLN - Junior-college transfer Steve Octavien is listed ahead of returnee Bo Ruud at weakside linebacker and freshman Jordan Congdon is ahead of junior David Dyches at place-kicker on the Nebraska football depth chart released Tuesday. Dyches shared place-kicking duties last fall with the departed Sandro DeAngelis and was NU's kicker most of the 2003 season. He has made 16 of 24 field goal tries and all 34 extra points. Congdon hit 11 of 13 field goals last season for his San Diego high school and played in the U.S. Army All-America game. Octavien, a transfer from William Rainey Harper College in Illinois, was locked in a duel with Ruud at weakside linebacker throughout the spring and preseason. Scheduled to start next to Octavien in Saturday night's Maine opener is middle linebacker Corey McKeon, a sophomore from Naperville, Ill., who played only against Western Illinois last season. No. 2 at middle linebacker is Phillip Dillard, a freshman from Tulsa, Okla. Other depth chart highlights: Seppo Evwaraye is back to his starting spot at right offensive tackle. The senior from Finland started every game on the right side last season, but he spent much of the preseason at left tackle. He's No. 1 at right tackle on this week's depth chart, and senior Cornealius Fuamatu-Thomas is No. 1 at left tackle. Like McKeon, Fuamatu-Thomas played only against Western Illinois last year. He is backed at left tackle by Jordan Picou, a 6-foot-2, 320-pound transfer from Mount San Antonio Community College in California. Cortney Grixby, a sophomore out of Omaha Central, is No. 1 ahead of junior-college transfer Zackary Bowman at cornerback. Nebraska's No. 1 wide receivers are sophomore Terrence Nunn and junior-college transfer Frantz Hardy, a sophomore transfer from Butler County (Kan.) Community College. Frantz's junior college teammate, Zac Taylor, was No. 1 as expected at quarterback, followed by redshirt freshman Joe Ganz. Sophomore Brandon Jackson is listed No. 2 at I-back behind returning starter Cory Ross.
  5. I got it from another message board that is a pay site, not sure I'd be allowed to post it over here yet. It should be up at huskers.com soon, I'd think. I'm just surprised that this is the first we've heard of him moving to CB.
