  1. "Clearly your fragile ego cant handle the ups & downs of normal college football fandom."

They couldn't handle the ups and downs under Pelini, what made you think they would handle the ups and downs under Riley?

Just like under Pelini, losses will lead to meltdowns on this board and throughout the state. Thus is the culture that our beloved Husker football program has developed into.

I'll always be a Husker fan, through the thick and thin, and believe me I got a lot laughs and pointing and "F--- the Huskers" thrown at me today and I'm sure it will be laid on heavy throughout the week, but I hold my head high and still root for them. But apart of me sees some twisted enjoyment in seeing folks meltdown on a message board or in real life over just one loss.

  2. 1. Tommy Armstrong

    2. Zack Darlington

    3. Tyson Broekemeier

    4. Johnny Stanton

    5. Ryker Fyfe

    6. AJ Bush

That's after what I just saw today. Talent wise, AJ Bush is a clear #2, but man he just didn't mentally look like he was ready for #2. I believe he will get there though. Zack Darlington looks like a number #2, only because the guys who have more talent than him aren't as polished as he is. Ryker just looks like he has taken a step back. TA is TA, no change really, and that is concerning. I was expecting to see improvement from TA, I didn't see enough of it.

  3.

And this one regarding the tape that was released: "'I think it's sad that it came out," Pelini said. "That's what's wrong with that place.'"

Read what y'all want into this article but I think those two quotes say everything there is to be said about Pelini. He lacks class and nothing is his fault.

"That's what's wrong with that place.'" That is like the arsonist blaming the fireman for putting out the fire.

Obviously, the guy is a bitter man but it didn't start wt his firing at NU. His antics at NU were driven by his bitterness. It is amazing that it didn't show more than it did - the only reason he stayed 7 years at NU.

And this one regarding the tape that was released: "'I think it's sad that it came out," Pelini said. "That's what's wrong with that place.'"

I find this interesting as well. Because it's pretty safe and easy to say that if any other coach acts in such a way ANYWHERE, it's probably recorded and released as well. The audio instances of Bo completely flipping out (one of which I defended and actually still do as discussed many times before, for it was an assumed moment of privacy with a friend/confidant as was many times prior) are NOT A NEBRASKA PROBLEM. Theyre a Bo problem. The fact that it doesnt happen anywhere else is because Bo is a few and proud to be nuts enough to openly say such rants about the place he works/worked.

He is absolutely an ego-driven guy and there's nothing especially "wrong" with Nebraska. Bo Peep doesn't want to accept that he lives in a world where if you go on a tirade about your ex in front of dozens of people, it's practically impossible to keep it under wraps. It's not 1980 anymore.

I think Bo is probably a decent guy, but his comment about "Thats what is wrong with that place" pretty much sums up why Bo didnt work out at Nebraska and now coaches an FCS school.

Nebraska is a very tough place to coach... but that doesnt mean you need to act like a child. He knew there was a legit chance that his tirade would be recorded, and yet he still had to get the last word.

Also, how hard is it to point the thumb? I believe these are his first public statements about Nebraska since he was fired. A person with class might thank the fans for his time there. But no, Bo goes with "no apologies" and "that's what's wrong with that place."

It's kind of absurd that he even feels wronged. How about a "Thanks NU, for completely handing the reigns of your flagship football program to me for seven years." That opportunity is the only reason anyone in the national media cares enough to write an AP story about the new Youngstown State coach.

I don't know why he says "That's what's wrong with that place," when we are paying him millions of dollars for doing nothing. Youngstown state will be paying him less than Nebraska will so I guess he is sore about getting fired and doesn't care about getting paid a ton of money. If he continues to take shots at the admin, they should not fire back, rather call Tressel and schedule a game against Youngstown State and lets see how much we can put up on his defense running fly sweeps lol.

So his own recruits sell him out and "That's what's wrong with that place."? f#*k off.

I'm talking about this garbage right here.

  4. I love how you guys take that one line he says personally, like he is attacking YOU! THE FANBASE! THE STATE OF NEBRASKA!

Did you ever think, he was talking about UNL? about the leadership at UNL?

No, because everything he says is directed at YOU, THE FAN! THE JOE BLO IN FRONT OF THE COMPUTER SCREEN!

  5. It is true, Perlman is retiring, apparently UNL had to release a statement saying it was true, because people thought it was an April's Fools Day joke. However, is it true that Perlman was hired on April's Fools Day? It would explain why they announced the retirement today.

As for anything else, probably not true. Either way, the damage from Perlman is done. "I kicked Osborne out, and got Pelini fired. Too bad Peterson didn't have the sense to get out of Dodge before Callahan drove the program into the ground, muwahahaha!"

  6. It was my understanding that BRB could happen, but neither Riley nor the assistant coaches would be present, and the coaching staff would not do any 1 on 1 interviews during the season, or something like that. Basically it sounded like, no more after practice interviews, mid week updates from the coaches, no more press conference on Monday, or was it Sunday with the head coach to discuss game (but rather the after game press conference was enough). At least that is how I took it.

  7. Doesn't surprise me about the pot smoking at Nebraska. But c'mon guys, how many times have we heard of current or ex Huskers getting in trouble for smoking pot or getting caught with a pipe/bong, or having some on their person/car? Pot smoking is a huge and common problem in College Athletics and probably in High School Athletics as well. Neither of which gets full coverage, unless its a REALLY big name player, like Randy Gregory. I do believe he popped positive for it, a little bit after he got to Nebraska, and it was known that he had problems with smoking pot at his JUCO school. The 2nd time he popped was early last year before spring ball.

In that regard, I frown at Randy Gregory and have a good amount of respect for him. I still wish him the best and hope he drops that bad habit when and IF he ends up in the NFL.

  8. It sounds like we are going to start seeing less skinny lanky DE's like Randy Gregory who are great at pass rushing, and more bigger stronger guys who can set the edge and contain the run to the inside rather than letting them get to the outside.

Overall it looks like Nebraska football will be less mental and more physical. It will be more about using your physical abilities to make a play, and less about using your head.

  9. It sounds like this offense is basically going to stay the same, except less QB mobility and runs, and more passes to the Tight Ends and Running Backs.

How many running backs and tight ends do we have on the team that have soft enough hands to catch the ball?

  10. A scat back who is by far the best this year when it comes to quickness, and has just as much strength as the other running backs that are bigger than him.

Kenny did a lot to improve his draft stock.

Gregory has always been referred to as a beast that needs to be molded. Randy can be a great NFL player, but he needs a coach and team that is willing to put in as much time and effort in developing him as he is willing to.

  11. Truthfully I don't really care who wins the Packers/Seahawks game. But wow it is quite a game to watch.

I am interested in the Colts/Pats game. I really want the Colts to win, Tired of seeing Brady in a Super Bowl.
