  1. Texas beat #12 Baylor and goes 5 - 7 as well. Do they go bowling or not?
  2. Wow, I'm surprised people are saying that they are happy that Scott Frost didn't coach under Bo Pelini. Wouldn't it have been a step closer to have Scott Frost actually be the head coach at Nebraska if he was already coaching the offense?
  3. Huskers have a lot of critics out there. Some are fair weather fans, some are lifelong fans, others aren't even fans. But to a player on the team, they all sing the same beat. "Your a terrible athlete and don't deserve to be on the team." Though it may not be in those exact words, that's normally how some players will take it. Some players will stick it out, others will leave to find a fresh start in a less hostile environment. Sounds to me TA wants to block out the outside noise from critics about him, and he has the support of the team and coaches to stay and improve at Nebraska.
  4. I heard it will be Gary Pinkel at Nebraska. Meter maid though.
  5. Husker fans will say, "Its UCF, he doesn't have the talent pool or the resources of a major university like Nebraska."
  6. Les Miles wouldn't come here. He would if we opened up the checkbook!
  7. Honestly, I believe it was just Tommy Armstrong trying to force a lot of his passes.
  8. next season? What I would like to see is a 7 or 8 win Husker program. With 3 losses on the road and 1 at home.
  9. You eliminate the turnovers from the offense, and Huskers could have won this game. Turnovers hurt way more than stopping the opposing offense on every 3rd down play.
  10. Honestly, thinking back to the starting QB's at Nebraska since Pelini took over. Staring down receivers has been a huge problem at Nebraska. Zac Lee did it, never fixed it. Cody Green did it, never fixed it. Taylor Martinez did it, never fixed it. And now Tommy Armstrong has fallen victim to it. I don't know, maybe its a mobile QB mindset where they believe they don't have to see the whole field because if the pass isn't there on one side, they can just run.
  11. Sure, we can go to the Pinstripe Bowl in New York and lose to a 6 - 6 Duke or a 5 - 7 Virgina Tech.
  12. It honestly depends on how well they treat the roads overnight and whether we see sun early tomorrow to help melt and evaporate the ice.
  13. Roads will be good by morning, 2:30pm kickoff. Plenty of time for everyone to get to Lincoln for the game. Thank goodness for that. If it was an 11am game, different story.
  14. Sounds like something did happen, but they won't press charges due to lack of evidence.
  15. Kickoff at 2:30pm. Mostly cloudy, temps around 30. Winds 10 - 15. Gusting to 20mph. I expect they will have tapered off a little bit by kickoff and as the game goes on later into the afternoon.
  16. As always Husker fans remember coaches for their losses, rather than their wins. I do believe Urban said before the game that their offensive line was going to be tested like never before at any point this season. They didn't rise to the challenge they had before them. I mean 14 points is all they could muster, and it all came on turnovers from Michigan State that gave them a short field. Granted I don't agree with the lack of carries that Ellliot got, but there are more tools with that offense than just Elliot. Hats off to Spartans for playing a great game.
  17. It's so SE. A written statement, rather than putting his face on screen. Not surprised at all. Didn't someone mention that this year is the worst record the Huskers have had since 1958?
  18. Michigan St. - loss Rutgers - up in the air Iowa - loss Rutgers is really the only game that we have somewhat of a chance of winning. Rutgers haven't been playing well, but their offense is built on the pass, and they have speed. If Rutgers have a good day of passing, and our offense struggles, yea it will probably be a loss. I'd like to say we could be 4 - 8, but my heart tells me 3 - 9.
  19. Through thick and thin, I'll support the players, whether they play bad or play well. They wear the N, I'll support them because of that. It's actions like what Jack Gangwish did after the Purdue game that is what will keep me going to the Husker games.
  20. I tell you, I keep reading these and the more I think the starters on offense and defense, especially defense aren't buying into Riley's coaching and are still stuck on what Bo preached and coached. Mike Riley doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who will bench a guy because he isn't listening to the playcalls or does his own thing out on the field. Just my 2 cents.
  21. I've said it many times on here and in real life. Win or lose, Husker football is anything but boring.
  22. Never felt the wheels were coming off when Bo Pelini was head coach, Felt that we were stuck in the mud. We needed a head coach who could help us get over the hump/funk of always at 9 wins never more than that. It's safe to say Riley has taken us in reverse this season, but sometimes you need to go in reverse in order to move forward past the mud. Time will tell whether or not Riley can get us throw the mud or if someone else needs to take the wheel. That being said, expect a 3 - 9 season Husker fans.
  23. I also find it interesting that it was mentioned that a theory for the Huskers poor play might be that the veteran players who played for years under Bo Pelini aren't buying into Mike Riley's system which is causing friction and bad play. Again, just a theory.
