You can go back and look at championship teams in every sport (NCAAFB, NCAABB, NBA, NFL). Almost every legendary team has a select set of 5-10 plays that they are extremely good at running. For some teams, it is 2 or 3. This is their bread and butter that they resort to when the game is on the line and they need a score. This is the thing that they know they can use in order to move the ball on anybody in the country. I think the difference between this year and previous years is that Tim Beck recognizes the need for an identity and generally calls plays accordingly. He also realizes that in order for our bread and butter (power running plays with Rex) to be effective, we must keep the defense off-balance and mix some passing plays in. I have been very pleased with how Beck has run the OC position, and I also think that Rich Fisher was a guy that has proved Bo right, as our receiver play is as good as I have ever seen it.
Here's to the last 5 games of the year, hoping that we finish strong! GBR!!

The battle in this game (like almost every game) is in the trenches. MSU has a BIG d-line and some physical backers that our O-line will have to try and shove around. If we win this battle, or even tie, it's a good sign. Then if our D-line can get a push into the backfield, and our LB's and safeties clog up some holes in the running lanes, that is also big.
We do these two things, and we win, assuming that we don't lose the turnover battle.

What's funny is that a couple weeks ago some people were dismissive of Michigan because they barely beat ND, yet we're getting all in a bunch about a team that *lost* to ND. MSU is baffling.
For whatever reason, Cousins has had a slow start this year. Notre Dame shut down the run and Cousins couldn't make them pay through the air. He's gotten back in form since then and a different story last night.
UW Att. Cp. Int. Yds. Lg. TD Wilson 21 14 2 223 42 2 MSU Att. Cp. Int. Yds. Lg. TD Cousins 31 22 0 290 44 3
That and RW is 0-6 when traveling to a stadium holding over 65k
He did look pretty rattled last night. Definitely not what I would call a good game by Wilson.

Gameday will be at the USC - Stanford game. This is according to the College Gameday facebook page.

that^^
OR Oklahoma forgot to show up tonight. Embarrassing loss for them...
-
well.... that is not what I expected to happen, but it did happen...
-
Yeah, I just saw him. And this game is getting good!
-
so where's Nick Toon tonight? Hurt?
-
sh!t just got real
My only question is How did Notre Dame beat these guys into the turf?...
Well, lucky for us next week, there's a commonly occurring thing called a let-down game

However this game plays out over the next 20ish minutes, the thing that I see is a very good Michigan State defense. I think if Wilson hadn't thrown that pick in the 1st half, though, this game is a blowout, as they probably would have scored another TD and went up 21-0. Momentum and costly mistakes are a huge deal in this game.
You know the same thing could have applied if Ciante intercepts a ball that Wilson threw up to Toon. Probably go up by 14.
Exactly what I'm trying to say: to win games, you can't make mistakes.

mmmm this is something that I did not notice. I see your point, and I definitely agree with you.
And also like you, I did not understand the ruling on our fumble... But I will take it.

WE GET BETTER AND BETTER!

Personally, I think pro style is the way to go, much like Stanford does. That type of offense is something you can take and move the ball on any team you go up against. We are pretty close to pro-style right now, with a few wrinkles as well as a non-throwing QB, but I definitely like where we are at.
The problem with triple option offense is you usually have a QB who has ZERO arm and are pretty easy to gameplan for. All the team has to do is play assignment football, and they shut it down.

It's good to see yet another young guy show promise to be an outstanding player, so I'm looking forward to watching Chase today. Though I also hope we can see Jay Guy in the game at some point. That's probably the guy I would like to see the most. Idk why...

I love the diamond formation. Though I also love us in the I-Formation pounding the rock down the defense's throat, it is nice to mix it up and hit bigger plays on occasion.

We ask for a chance that's fair,

I'd have to say Wisconsin. We just have to take care of ourselves and win out, no matter the circumstances. I predict Wisky to win by 2 scores today, and if we make it to the B1G CCG, I would rather play an undefeated Wisconsin team who has a chance of going to the National Championship game if they were to win against us again.

Nebraska - 52
Minnesota - 7
Rushing - 430
Passing - 215

I would be ok with something like this once a yr.
That would be the away version I made. Here is one of the home versions.
OK!!!
I'll never admit this in person, but the black ones are starting to grow on me.
But I still refuse to watch "Dancing with the Idols" or listen to Hipitty Hop muzac on purpose.
Good to see you're coming around.

This is a guy I have been hoping to see since he stepped foot on campus. He is a big guy and could be a force if he uses it like Suh did.

haha I really like Saban. He's a lot of the same type of guy that Pelini is. The difference is, he and Bo could do the exact same thing and the resulting views from others would be polar opposites: People would laugh and back up Saban, but if Pelini goes after a pesky reporter, he's a mad man.
Same thing during last season. Bo got in Taylor's face during the A&M game and is considered a lunatic (he didn't lay a hand... only a finger in his chest). Saban got pissed at AJ McCarron during his mop-up duty during a game, went ballistic on the kid, and spanked him. I never heard a word said about it... This type of thing puzzles me... Oh well...

And call me crazy, but I'm diggin the Johnny Rodgers jerseys!

Just use one of these. I'd kind of like to see the 1929. Somewhat similar to what Michigan did.
man, we must've had a fat team in 1994
Joe Ganz passing stats, hard to believe

true that, but I was always a fan of Joe when he was playing. He had a habit of throwing INTs at times, but he won us a lot more games than he lost us, I will say that.
