  1. The students and student section were the only disappointing part. Before the game, we encountered a good amount who were drunk and belligerent for no reason to random Nebraska fans old and young. Just walking down the street yelling "F^(# YOU!" type harassment. Start of the game, they were no where to be found. Start of the second quarter, half full. They never filled. I guess they validate themselves to some by jumping around for 3 minutes.

I met some really nice older Badger fans and shared a good amount of beers and stories. It was a fun trip and pretty cool city.

This has been the MO for the student section for as long as I can remember. They'll show up on time for the really big ones (OSU in 2010, Nebraska in 2011, not sure why this one didn't qualify) but other than that, it takes until the second quarter to fill up completely. Administration has tried various enticements over the years, to pretty much no avail. I think they've accepted it for what it is. Also doesn't help that UW police herd students into their seats one at a time.

I'm not worried about stave at all. But we all know the problems mobile qbs give Bo. Are they still doing the two qbs at Wisconsin?

Yes, last week vs. Purdue they swapped out QBs on the same drive.

... Including once when Stave was in the game, the subbed in McEvoy, got a substitution penalty and put Stave back in without McEvoy getting to run a play.

Well no one ever said they were good at it.

Regarding the "Wisconsin fans don't care, they just want to drink" -- it's mostly hyperbole. Wisconsin fans care, but generally not to the degree that, say, Ohio State or Nebraska fans care. We don't take the game as seriously as you guys do. There's a party in the street, there's a party in the stands, there's a game on the field. Win or lose we're going to have a good time. I mean, there are grandmas and small children to assault, why should the game outcome deter us from having fun like that?

Can you drink in the streets, like, state street and stuff? On gameday?

Not in the street, no. On Regent Street, there are outdoor beer garden things hosted by the bars on gamedays, but that's about it.

Okay, what is better...Regent or State?

Before the game, definitely Regent. Afterwards, State Street.

Wisconsin will try to get on the perimeter, especially with Gordon and Clement.

Gordon has only run a couple of jet sweeps this season and the team uses the play only about once or twice a game, usually with a wide receiver. We're kind of thin on running backs this season as our two freshmen recruits were both hurt in August and are redshirting.

This. We could afford to run it in the 2012 B1GCCG because we had Gordon in addition to Ball and White at the time. Now, they seem more reluctant to run it. Different OC too.

  6. I don't know. I feel like folks are ripping on this trophy and the idea behind it because of its intention to honor Nebraska/Wisconsin veterans through a college football game. It feels to me that folks are upset that veterans are being honored with it. Like if your gonna make a rivalry trophy between Nebraska and Wisconsin, leave the veterans out of it.

I see it as an opportunity for both universities to really use it as a platform to help veterans in both states and communities. That's my 2 cents on the subject.

My problem with it is that most of the new trophies of the past few years are all associated with some variant of freedom, heroes, etc. Look at the other great rivalry trophies in the conference and you'll see they all have character because they have some quirkiness to them. I'm all for honoring those who serve our country but trophies like this are sterile IMO and are the product of focus groups and athletic marketing departments who are too afraid to think outside of the box/offend anyone with a new trophy, so they instead opt for the safe, uncontroversial route and slap a big ol' American flag on everything.

  7. Honestly, trying to park in Madison on gamedays is a mess. If you'd like to forego the parking pass route for lots, there are plenty of yards, driveways, etc. to park in. Whenever I have visitors come in from out of town, I usually direct them to lot 34 on the map you provided. It's a bit of a walk to Camp Randall, but it's something of a secret and real easy in-and-out.

  8.

I know they had a former recruit that is now in jail for sexual assault but I don't recall anything about current players.

Yes. 1999. Kid was his HS class valedictorian and everything, but he never even participated in even a single practice. Came to campus in the summer and assaulted a woman. The next day (maybe the second day after) he was off the team. Jael Spaights. Convicted and sentenced to 37 years.

I believe he's referring to the kid from Mukwonago that was sentenced this summer, BAB.

I actually think the blowouts are helping to form one

Only from one side. We hate Wiscy because they destroyed us, the dont give a crap about us because they destroyed us. If it gets balanced with blow outs and hard losses and dreams ruined year in and out then it will develop. Heck the way the B1G is going they wont be in our division in four years.

I think it's misleading to say that Wisconsin fans don't care about Nebraska. Certainly they see NU as a natural geographic rival and one of the biggest threats in the West each year. The makeup of the old Legends and Leaders was sort of jumbled and hard to establish rivalries in, but for the most part, the West is shaping up to be a fun division where rivalries come naturally.

  10. HB did you see Bielema at the Heisman Presentation last night?

    He wasn't wearing the windbreaker!

That must have been an impostor than. Kind of like the stand-ins they have for the President.

Biels never leaves home without his trusty zip-up.

  11. 07 5* recruit. A lot of promise.

    08 redshirt

09 ruptured tendon in knee during WSU garbage time, out for season.

    10 tore ACL

    11 Fumbleitis.

I really hope he has a chance to do well at KU.

Would he be a jumior next year?

No I'm pretty sure the NCAA holds fast to the '4 years and 5 to use them.' His 2010 injury came in week 8 I think.

You can apply for a sixth year but they don't hand them out very often. Case Keenum is in his sixth year at this point. The main emphasis seems to be on academics. Anyone know what his GPA is?

He has already graduated from ND. If you transfer after graduating and study something different at your new school you don't have to sit out a season like other transfers.

Now that Kansas has Weis, that sounds like it could be another destination for Crist.

  12. It was a great game GreenandWhite. I can't imagine the Big Ten could've asked for a much better game. Good luck in your bowl game.

You guys are gonna kill Oregon.

IF we can slow down their offense. IMO it's going to come down to slowing the game down and eating clock. I think we can do that with our offense. Should be a great game.

  13. Congrats to both teams tonight. They fought hard to the very end. It was quite an entertaining inaugural B1G CCG.

Best of luck to Wiscy in the Rose. If I'm Bielema, I'm studying the USC/Oregon game film with particular interest in how Monte Kiffin defended Oregon's offense in the first half. Wiscy's offense should be fine against Oregon's defense. The real question is, can Wiscy's defense keep up with Oregon's no-huddle attack?

    No.
