  1. While Ndamukong Suh is in the spotlight, he's not alone among Lions defensive linemen who stands accused of playing outside the rules. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers reportedly told a Milwaukee radio station that Lions defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch "likes to lay on people," and did so at least six times in the Thanksgiving Day game LINK

I guess this is more about Suh's fellow Husker alum Kyle Vanden Bosch. Arron ROdgers sounds like a crybaby, even though he might have a point. The comments following this news snippet are hilarious.

If you heard the sound clip that this is likely from, it's hilarious, and I don't think he means to rip on Vanden Bosch. He goes on to imitate VB after he got the helmet-to-helmet hit on Rodgers. If anyone can find it, it's pretty funny. Seems like more of a joking thing to me.

  2. Just a rumor at this point. Not much base of note other than ND boards.

I would avoid this like the plague if I were Bielema. The last thing you want is a reputation of a school that continually brings in hired guns at QB. That doesn't bode well for recruiting in the future.

  3. I guess I have never heard of a major conference championship game soliciting the public to fill empty seats before.

ACC has this problem every season, I believe last year was an all time low. Looked like a Florida Marlin crowd.

  4. Thanks for expressing interest in helping us fill empty seats on Saturday night. We have gotten your e-mail address, and will be sending out details Saturday morning to match the expected number of needed seat-fillers. Our client has asked for discretion about this opportunity, as “seat-filling” is behind-the-scenes aspect of this event production.

On the day of the event event, we will designate a parking garage and validate your parking. Seat fillers will be assigned seats inside or near the event close to the event start time. We expect fillers will need to be checked in around 6:30pm on Saturday. The event itself begins shortly after 8pm, and we expect it to conclude close to midnight. You will receive payment at the end of the evening upon turning in the paperwork given to you at the beginning of the evening.

No experience is necessary, and there are no age, sex, or race requirements. We are asking that all participants wear red or dark green t-shirts and/or hats.

This is an exciting opportunity to be paid to see a live sporting event! We look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Seems realllll sketchy. I bet a lot of people end up driving there only to end up punked.

  5. I call BS. The Big Ten just released 2k additional tickets yesterday due to demand from the public...

This is just a stupid Craigslist post that's circulating around CFB boards...nothing more than a joke.

I find this hard to believe, considering Wisconsin hasn't even sold their school allotment, and there are upper level tickets selling for literally $15-20 online. Pathetic showing Wisconsin, can't even get close to filling up your half of the stadium in the first ever B1G Championship Game.

Well, we apologize greatly. Now let's hear about how Nebraska/OSU/Michigan would've certainly sold all their tickets to the game.

  6. @darrenrovell:

Big Ten spokesman Scott Chipman says the conference has nothing to do w/hiring any seat fillers for champ. game

Now, that didn't exactly deny it. It would just mean that the Indiana Sports Corp is behind the seat filling.

  7. In all of college football

    Nick Saban

    Les Miles

    Chris Petersen

    Bob Stoops

    Chip Kelly

    Urban Meyer

    Mike Gundy

    Gary Patterson

    Bobby Petrino

    Brett Bielema

would all be ahead of Bo at this point.

I would agree with everyone on that list except Bobby Petrino. I don't think he's a top 10 coach. He has one of the most talent rich teams in the nation, yet has done nothing in four seasons.

Bielema isn't top ten....I'm a cynic I know but we've yet to get a bowl win that really felt satisfying to me

From an outsider's perspective, I'd put Bielema in the top 10 because he doesn't have the greatest amount of talent around him, yet he has done quite a lot with it.

Russel Wilson and Monte Ball, that 305-lb averaging O-line? No talent there, no sir. Bielema has had a lot more talent than we have had in the last couple years.

I think what he's saying is, those kids aren't 4 and 5-star recruits coming in (Wilson's a weird exception). The player development/walk-on program at Wisconsin is very good, and it needs to be because Wisconsin won't be a top-10 recruiting class every year.

  8. This is huge Nebraska. Hope you guys pull it off and the Badgers and one other team of course. It's time for the BIG to dominate this Challenge.

Apparently we drew the toughest game with UNC...I had no idea OSU would turn out to be that good...or Duke that bad.

OSU is just that good. I had them winning the NC last year. I think they finish the job this year.

  9. OSU up 11-0 early against Duke.

Another showdown win this year would be great for the Big Ten.

OSU is gonna be good. Purdue is impressing me so far. Iowa sucks. Michigan should not be ranked. Illinois is gonna be tough. I didn't watch NW, but they killed GT

Northwestern basketball is just like Northwestern football, you'll find. They sneak up on a lot of teams. Not a ton of great athletes, but they always play tough and usually have one guy that has the capability of going off.

  10. Personally, I think there's no way Ball stays.

We also have a 4* QB (Bart Houston) coming in from California in the spring and will be a freshman next year. He could challenge for the starting spot in 2013, if not earlier.

  11. So. is anyone gonna address the fact that I've met Suh many times (through an ex-girlfriend of mine) and I have a decent sense of what's he like in person?

Let me clarify. I do NOT believe Suh is a bad person on or off the field. However, I do think he has some problems reigning his emotions in in the heat of the battle. Is his "dirty" label totally warranted? Probably not. But he needs to learn to start playing within the confines of the game. If he can't do that, he can expect more suspensions/fines in his future.

  12. Here's my view on the whole situation:

Suh slamming the guy's head into the ground and then accidentally (you can tell very clearly from the video that it was an accident) "stomping" on his arm was a dirty action. No doubt about that. BUT, the Packers player did not get hurt. That's what makes this different in my book from, say, James Harrison body slamming Mohamed Massaquoi into the ground and injuring him. Harrison got a big fine for that, but no suspension. Yesterday, on SportsNation, Beadle said that only two players have ever been suspended for their actions on the field: Albert Haynesworth and some guy from the Stone Ages. If that's true, suspending Suh for something like this is an awful big double standard on the part of the NFL.

So I ask again: if Dietrich-Smith would have been injured, than should Suh be suspended? It's such a dumb premise that because he didn't hurt the guy, he so obviously had no malicious intent.

If he had been injured, then, yes, Suh should be suspended.

I'm not saying that head slamming wasn't malicious, because it obviously was, but the fact is that Dietrich-Smith wasn't hurt. The problem I have with the whole situation is that players like James Harrison, Tommie Harris, Hines Ward, Haloti Ngata, Shaun Phillips, Shawn Merriman, and Brandon Merriweather have all done much worse things on the field (things that have actually caused some serious injuries), yet all they got were fines. No suspension, just fines. What Suh did to Dietrich-Smith doesn't even compare to Haloti Ngata punching Ben Roethlisberger in the face and breaking his nose or James Harrison body slamming Mohamed Massaquoi into the ground, yet Suh gets suspended. Complete BS.

But it's the principal of it all. He did it. Whether or not he injured the guy is irrelevant. It's like saying you shouldn't go to jail if you shoot someone but they're not injured.

That's a terrible analogy. Shooting at someone is illegal. Stepping on someone's arm in a fit of anger during a football game is not. He did do it. Was it malicious? Nope. Watch the clip again. Suh wasn't even looking at the guy. The fact that the guy said he had to look at the tape to be sure says it all. It doesn't sound (although I don't know this player so I can only give my opinion) like this whole incident made any different to the victim. Why is it making such a difference to you or other here who share your opinion?

    Ndamukong-Suh-Stomping-e1322423457724.jpg

Why does it make a difference to me? Maybe because there are a few on here (a few, not all) who maintain that Suh either A) didn't intend to hit Dietrich-Smith or B) shouldn't be punished because he didn't hurt the guy when he stomped him.

  13. See Cactus is on to something there. I don't care who you are, if you are a fan of football at any level you must have some amount of respect for the Packers. You don't have to like them but you must respect them.

Nope! Screw the Cheeseheads! It's impressive that they are on a 16 [?] game winning streak, but I don't have a shred of respect for them. That being said, I'm thinking about buying a partial share whenever they release more. I know, I'm a two face.

Unless you're into real sentimental stuff, don't. It's not worth the cost IMO. They're basically entirely symbolic.

  14. On the flipside, do you know him?

This is a rather obvious deflection of a somewhat astute point.

I don't think so. I think the "Well you don't know him personally, so you can't judge" line is used by people when they're trying to defend someone rather often. Obviously most of us don't know any college or NFL players personally, so that means we can't judge them or their actions? I've never bought that.

Except in this case we're talking about a guy who claims to know what's inside Suh's head:

Yes, that is obviously it. It is all because Suh is just so good, nothing to do with the fact that he has Personal Fouls up the wazoo.

It is that kind of thinking that allows Suh to think he is so "special" the rules don't apply to him.

Responding to this with "do you know him" is not a deflection or a defense, it's pointing out a rather obvious bit of hyperbole. Replying "Do YOU know him" doesn't get the conversation anywhere.

It was more of a question in regard to the conversation NebraskaDrumline and I were having than the conversation TAW and NebraskaDrumline were having. I just happened to quote TAW's/ND's conversation when asking the question. But it fit in the context of what we were talking about.

  15. On the flipside, do you know him?

  16. The problem is the NFL & players do not like how dominanent of a player Suh is. Suh is going to have a watchful eye on him his whole carrer. Any little thing he does will be headlines on Sports News. The NFL is all about scoring points & making sure QB's don't take hits. They might as well put red pullovers & flags on them.

Yes, that is obviously it. It is all because Suh is just so good, nothing to do with the fact that he has Personal Fouls up the wazoo.

It is that kind of thinking that allows Suh to think he is so "special" the rules don't apply to him.

Why do people keep saying this? Do you know Suh personally? Do you know for sure that he thinks he's above the rules? If not, you shouldn't say stuff like that. It's pretty obvious that Suh has trouble controlling his emotions on the field. That's the reason he draws so many personal fouls. It's not because he thinks he's above the rules, it's because he has huge lapses in judgment on the field.

On the flipside, do you know him?
