  1. Well.... If NU doesn't turn the ball over, they can beat any team in the Big 10...... even with a crappy defense. You don't have to be a sunshine pumping Husker homer to make that claim. Now, I can understand everyone's lack of confidence because Martinez has a propensity to turnover the football in big games. But, NU can and will move the football against any team not named LSU or Alabama this season. Therefore, things shouldn't be all gloom and doom in Husker land. If Nebraska doesn't give Michigan State extra possessions off of turnovers or special teams mistakes, Nebraska will beat them and put up more yards/points than any previous Spartan opponent.
  2. As a Jets fan, I can confidently say he is not a good o-line coach. I'm not a Jets fan or a Bill Callahan apologist, but many pundits around the NFL considerd the Jets to have the best offensive line in the NFL the last two years.
  3. KU would beat them pretty handily. The Jayhawks at least have a serviceable offense. Minnesota is not good at anything.
  4. I will throw up all over my TV if Nebraska and Washington both win out and have to play in the Rose Bowl. Ugh, I just threw up writing that.
  5. Watching that Michigan State game a couple of things are very clear: - I think if they try to "dirty" the game up with the Huskers they will be in trouble. The Big 10 officials will be targeting these guys for the remainder of the season. Plus, the Huskers have been riding dirty since Pelini arrived. Also, I think NU's offensive line matches up physically with them. - NU can, not saying they will, but can exploit the Heck out of their non-stop blitzing. Blitzing an option team is feast or famine. You can make big plays behind the line of scrimmage or surrender an 80 yard touchdown.
  6. ABC still has first pickings in the Big 12. They will pick up that game.
  7. I was impressed with Chase Rome on Saturday night. Moore, Randle, and Rome will all get their shots.
  8. NU doesn't play Michigan for a more than a month. I think the assessments of the Wolverines are a bit premature. They haven't played anyone with a pulse yet other than Notre Dame, and the Irish lit them up offensively and pissed that game down their legs. I expect Michigan to lose a couple of games between now and then, and I'd be surprised if Robinson is actually healthy by the time NU rolls into town. Now that game will be difficult regardless, but Michigan has some serious flaws right now and I believe those flaws will be exposed as the conference seasons progresses. Michigan just played their first road game of the season.... at Northwestern of all spots. We will learn a lot about the UM in the next few weeks, and we will also see if the Blackshirts can earn their namesake.....
  9. More talented than Turner? Meh, we'll see there. He is definitely talented but Turner could be a great one for us... Does Turner have more speed and "shake and bake?" Sure? But when you add Enunwa's size and physicality to his speed and athleticsm, he has more natural talent as a receiver.
  10. Oh, well if they already moved the Wiscy at Ohio State game to night, then that means the Michigan State @ Nebraska game will only be a 2:30 kick unless the Big 10 decides to make that game a Night Game on the Big 10 network. if ABC decides to make the Illinois at Penn State game an afternoon broadcast, then its possible to see the Michigan State at NU game on the BTN.
  11. You're forgetting about Enunwa, who is actually MORE talented than Bell and Turner.
  12. Early 2009 called, and it wants it O'hanlan Post back.
  13. Actually, that wasn't a bad throw by Bauserman. I think that would've been a completion against any other Husker corner other than Dennard.
  14. Our biggest competition could come from within the conference. There are two other Big 10 games of note that day. Illinois @ Penn State and Wisconsin @ Ohio State Now, Wiscy at OSU might only be a day game because the Buckeyes have 3 losses. If the Illini stay undefeated, that game could get the night broadcast.
  15. What is the reasoning for your prediction of the start time? Just curious. I never thought much into the start time of the game with regards to the previous week's outcome. ABC/ESPN want to put the biggest games in Prime Time because that's when the most viewers will be watching TV. Therefore, if its "big game" between two highly ranked 1-loss teams, then that may intice more Eyeballs to that channel. We need Michigan State to beat Michigan for a couple of reasons. A. We need Michigan to suffer a loss in division. B. A 1-loss Michgan State team and a 1-loss Husker team will likely mean a Night game.
  16. Eh.... NU would've been more than competitive with Boise State the last two seasons. But this year, our defense is dreadful.
  17. It seemed to have worked last year after the Texas game. But then again, the Texas game was a 6 point loss. The Wiscy loss was behind the woodshed.
  18. In all seriousness, I think NU's offense could be devistatingly good if Joey Ganz was behind center. NU has far better receievers than than Ganz ever had at his disposal. Swift and Peterson were pretty good, but NU has weapons all over the field now.
  19. No this means Ohio States are really ticked off and don't want to be here.
  20. I bet scalpers are killing themselves right now. lol. I live in the KC area, and there is a stupid, beotchy woman from Lee's Summit trying to sell a whole Season ticket 4 pack for $1800 total. By the time the Washington game rolled around, she still hadn't sold the tickets. I offered her $80 bucks per ticket for the Washington game. She declined stating she would take $300 a piece for each ticket, and no less. I laughed at her and said, "Mam, you haven't sold any tickets for any game yet. The season keeps disapeering. I'm just trying to help you get some money." She again declined stating she would probably be able to make all of her money back for the Ohio State game alone. Knowing there are face value tickets availble through the Husker ticket office makes me laugh hysterically. I normally wouldn't care, but this woman was such a condescending jerk on the phone with no concept of supply and demand.
  21. If he's limping from an infection, then he's probably not going to see the field anytime soon.
  22. He has a point. NU has too many fans who whine and moan instead of actually cheering and supporting the team during the game.
  23. I just put in a request for 10 tickets together, and they were available for purchase all together if I had wanted to make the purchase. I could not have purchased 10 tickets together at face value for the Fresno State game, but that many seats are available for Ohio State. That's unbelievable.
