  1. Ohh and I forgot to mention Borren was the leading tackler....sigh
  2. Our linebacker situation is beyond bad right now. You know it's bad when zack Borden who is a fullback is out there playing linebacker.
  3. Except for when they fail to de-ass the area when players are supposed to be warming up. Are you calling our band asses?
  4. Umm sorry but you obviously weren't there. They began kicking on the middle of the 40 about 10-15 yards from where the band was and actually had to move. You better get used to bands being important because they are in the B1G. It's part of the tradition and pageantry that sets it apart from other conferences. You guys are new and don't understand but eventually you will. I do agree though its more the field administrators fault then anyone's. I think people were upset initially as it was a sign of disrespect but I think after a few days people understand it was just a mistake.
  5. scUM? That School Up North? Cesspool? Ann Arbor is a whore? To get there from Columbus, you drive west till you smell it and north until you step in it? +1
  6. It should be mandatory that Michigan vs. Michigan State games are night games along with Ohio State vs. Michigan and Nebraska vs. Iowa. The Big 10 is the blue collar conference that many people find appealing and can relate to. Urban Meyer is also a big name in college football which does nothing but help the conference. its really cold at night in Nov. Ohh good lord, grow a pair...I swear Michigan fans.. There are a lot of outdoor stadiums in the nfl that get cold, it's just weather...sheez.
  7. But that was a day game, during a freak snow storm. Dost happen very often.
  8. No doubt. Those were two iconic helmets going at it. Another reason I wish we played every year.
  9. Ya it's pretty much gone viral. There is a petition going around to get them to the Super Bowl to perform it. If they do maybe we can lend you Maher to dot the i. Haha that's funny.
  10. Thanks for clarifying wm. I thought the homecoming happened at half but I guess I remembered wrong. That's great news about Waters. It's well deserved.
  11. Ya it's pretty much gone viral. There is a petition going around to get them to the Super Bowl to perform it. it was truly incredible. i was reluctant to watch it, but have seen it posted on a few other websites. glad i watched it. osu should be proud. seriously, how to your organize that? it is truly unbelievable. Those guys are amazing. To learn it in one week. They are planning a Myan themed apocalypse show for the Purdue game lol...with a spaceship that comes down with Michigan aliens... Can't wait to see that one.

  13. That works too. I can see playing OSU becoming like our experience with Texas - frustratingly difficult to beat even in the years where there is no conceivable reason that we shouldn't. As long as you don't compare us to Texass fans =)
  14. Well, they have them in the sec... Lots of a$$hats down there and it doesn't seem to be a big deal.
  15. I disagree, a 8pm osu/scUM game would be incredible. There is nothing like a night game at the shoe. Couple that with one of the greatest rivalry in sports and its a win win for the fans, the big ten and recruiting.
  16. I'm pretty sure they are determined in advance because of tv contracts.
  17. Just heard on our local radio station that the tOSU/NU game had the highest rating of any show on Saturday night. Not just sports shows but all shoes. Beating out the UGA/SC game significantly, both who were ranked higher. It really shows that for all the dominance of the SEC outside of maybe bama, they are still very much a regional product. For the big ten to compete with those southern schools for recruiting, they really need to change some things...starting with more night games, even in November.
  18. 10 of the 28 are Big Ten schools or 35% someone is missing.... Even the skunk weasels are on the list The absentees aren't suprising.... a good band is important to a winning tradition! Do you think Gene Smith would accept our apology and gift? We would place a lot of importance in getting that tuba back. It's not like our kicker did anything intentionally It's good that you are on the list. But it should be noted that you can only win the sudler once. That means every band of a university will eventually make the list. In this regard, the list really meant to read the earlier you get on the list the higher ranked you are. As far as the kicker doing intentionally I don't think he did so either. What upset people is that he didn't get the message and move. You guys being new it's understandable. The reason the bands performance ran long is because it was homecoming. The court had to be announced and the winners selected. The bands purpose is to entertain the crowd, and that's exactly what they did. There is no rule to my knowledge that says they have to be off the field before the last second of the halftime clock. In all honesty the blame should be put on the field crew. Buckeyes are being way too civil. What would it take to goad you into a rivalry game with an old brass tuba at stake? It's difficult to get excited over this contrived rivalry game with Iowa. We have higher expectations for our program. I think the "battle of the bands" rivalry could be interesting since it would have it's origin in an actual incident. The extra 5 minutes would allow the bands to entertain longer but historically it's because we insisted it for our kicker. Would it really matter that we don't play in regular season every year? It could apply during a CCG too. None of us would care that it be an official "trophy game" since that's not really part of our tradition. We would value getting the tuba back though. I got you now, my apologies as I thought you were being cynical. =). I would be for any type of new tradition between us. The college football fan in me had goosebumps watching those silver and white helmets clashing. It was just so iconic. Anything to heighten it would be a plus. I wish we could swap you and penn state out in the leaders lol

  20. We don't like being mixed up with ohio u. When people call us ohio we just like to emphasize we are the ohio state. Doesn't mean we don't like the word ohio. Two different things really.
  21. Script ohio is more of a tribute to the state than just the school.
  22. Schmidts and Thermans are both the bomb. Can't go wrong with either. The band here is as revered as the football team. It really started with Woody Hayes and his passion for the band. I'm just glad the kickers weren't closer, because the marching band stops for nothing, lol. They plowed over an espn cameraman who got to close.
  23. I see. I'm embarrassed. Usually my knowledge of the horn section is much more accurate. No worries, they are pretty close to each other from what I know. I'm not really a band person, but every buckeye is a tosumb fan
  24. It is a sousaphone player. (Similar to a tuba) It is always a sousaphone player that dots the i except in the VERY rare case that a celebrity gets the honor. But competition for the sousaphone player is intense, and they have to work their way up through the ranks and audition for it. It take years to finally get the chance. From the band site "Who dots the "i" To be eligible to dot the "i", a sousaphone player must at least be a fourth-year member. Fifth-year members also are eligible to dot the "i", but only after all fourth-year members have been chosen. At postseason performances (usually double scripts), fourth and fifth-year members compete for the open dots in what is called a "dot-off", in which eligible members perform their routine for the entire sousaphone section. Members watch two rounds of competition and vote for the best two candidates. Woody Hayes and Bob Hope are among the select few non-band members who have had the honor of dotting the "i." This is considered the greatest honor the band can bestow to any non-band person and is an extremely special (and rare) event.
  25. The a$$hole chants did not come until after booing for quite sometime and the kicker refusing to get off the field. As I said, it's sacred, nothing will piss osu fans off more than talking bad or disrespecting the band.
