  1. The big difference is at least those games were close. I don't mind losing if it's a hard fought, close game. This Husker team gives up and really know how to go down with a bang.

Really...Last I checked, Clemson got mudholed about as bad as we did and that was to a 5-5 team. The difference between us and the rest is that we lost to a RANKED team. Only OU and Texas can claim that also.

sh#t happens and we as Cornhusker fans should know about that.

I did not know NW was ranked?

  2. Well I stand corrected when I said earlier today that the receivers would show the world that they could get the job done. They have proven me wrong since they cannot catch. Really let down after they had talked about the drops all week and made it a focus.

Likewise, I've probably defended them as much as anyone, but today, they earned what they will receive.

Yep. This one stings and what makes it much more painful is I work with a guy from Michigan and he talked smack all week and I dread going to the office on Monday. Really bites. Maybe I am just having a nightmare and I am still sleeping and I will be getting up here soon to start the day over. Pinch. nope i am awake and the nightmare is reality. :(

  3. I have to question Bo's thinking. Taylor just took 2 hard shots there and there's not chance in hell that we can win this game. If Taylor gets hurt, Bo should be FIRED immediately.

    Really?

Yes Really. It would prove to everyone that he has no clue about coaching. Get your starting Qb injured in a blowout for no reason.

    Come on.... Really??

Yes really. Continue being obtuse though.

Its just hard to believe anybody but a child would jump to the conclusion that Bo can't coach. Do you honestly believe Bo can't coach?

It is not whether he can coach defense or not it is a question is he a head coach and can he recruit athletes?

  4. How many remember the firestorm we had around here in the last years of Dr Toms tenure? The program very nearly sold its soul to acquire the elite athletes needed to win 3 national championships. I won't say there was money under the table or athletes parents were suddenly driving new cars but hardly a month went by when one of our players was in the news and in trouble with the law. I realize many if not most prominant programs are in the same boat and that 18 to 22 year old gravitate to trouble like a bear to honey. We were all 18 once!

Are you equating troublesome 18 year olds to "selling its soul" as a university? LP, P. Christian, T. Farley while ranging in trouble from stupid to what a waste and an embarrassment hardly fit the mold of soul selling to win at all cost.

I remember Bo in the first year of his tenure here after several players got into trouble on "O" St declared that the "O" St bars were off limits and anyone caught in those establishments were no longer going to be part of the team. What I am saying is that in the mid 90's for whatever reason players were regularly in trouble with the law for reasons ranging from theft to discharging firearms in a public place. The only thing that moved them off the team was a long stint in jail and a charge with a serious crime. While it wasn't the dumpster fire that Oklahoma was in the 80's, there were times I wondered if our program "sold it's soul".

I will take 3 National titles along with having to deal with kids who act like kids and get into trouble on occasion rather than a team of teetotaler's who cannot win.

  5. Again, what is the definition of a clean program? Are you advocating an honor code like BYU has where if you have sex with your girlfriend you are deemed morally unfit and should get suspended? I think that type of thing is not where I want to see the NU football program gravitate towards. I think you need to recruit athletes based on football skills and mentor them to grow into good men but winning is the goal and there is nothing wrong with that.

  6. What is your definition of a clean program? Of course being a good citizen and following the rules is important but lets face it a check mark in the win column should be the goal of every program and is paramount. I for one am not a fan of giving ribbons for 5th place or saying nice try after getting your tail kicked. We do not need choir boys playing for or coaching our university every Saturday to have a good clean program that other teams fear.
