  1. Sucks having to delve into reality.

    NU  20

    Rabid Rodents   44

    Running scared   122

    Chuckin It             185

Prop pick:   2 more Huskers sidelined with serious injuries.

2nd Prop:   Starting QB does not finish the game.

3rd Prop;     I spend the second half in my shop, working on dog feeding stands and listening on the radio.

This ^^^  It's one of the main reasons Solich struggled to replace him. Frankie was nowhere near the offensive mind and playcaller TO was.

Although the OP may have a valid point. I'm willing to give HCSF more time to get all the guys he needs and then see what his play calling looks like. But it has been a little suspicious and lackluster so far. Hard to really tell with the almost complete lack of line and player execution.

I had breakfast (free for Vets at HyVee this morning) with two old boys.  One was claiming to be friends with a lot of the teammates of the Championship teams of the 90s.  He said most of them have a lingering dislike for Scott due to his trip to Stanford.  But he said every one of them is 100% convinced that Scott's hard nosed methods and determination are exactly what this program needs.  He also said that those ex teammates are at practice often, and feel that the crew in redshirts this year could kick the butts of the starters this year.  They think Scott is trying to build depth in the long haul, not immediate, shallow results.

Hope those boys know what they are talking about.  I'd like to believe that is the case, and for the next two to four years, I will believe that.

  3. I know I don't like for the team to lose.

I know I don't like the football I see being played by the boys in Red and White.

I am still convinced Scott Frost is the coach for this team.  I am still convinced he is a few years out and lots of painful lessons away from being a great coach.

I don't know enough about coaching vs talent to say whether other coaches should be released.  I'm in favor of keeping the whole staff around one more year (based on my admitted lack of knowledge).  But I also know I'd not be surprised to see one or two be gone.  I do know we've seen a lot of coaching changes the last 15 years, and it doesn't ever seem to have caused a better level of football.

I do know the difference between all out effort and lack of effort, and I've seen both on the field this year.  I know one is acceptable.

I know I will still be a loud, proud Husker fan till my red blood stops flowing, but I also know I'll be listening on the radio while I do hobby type stuff for the rest of the games this year, and not watching on TV.

I know many won't agree with me, but I know it doesn't matter.

The fans have got to stop showing up for this s#!t product that keeps getting put on the field. It's time for the fans to show that we've had enough and let the sellout streak die and the stadium to be half empty. I think we've been patient for the past 20 years now and we've paid our dues. I never thought I'd say that, but something has to force some change here.

What changes do you have in mind?

What if we lose? No one would really be too surprised and we would get the same, boring post-game report from Scotty Frosty.  If we play like last week, it could be a true reality that we very well could lose.  Have not done squat on the road under this staff.

Why do you bother writing full posts.  It would be more efficient and you'd make the same point by just posting three words on every thread. "I hate Frost"

I remember him.  He didn't look like a hippie in the 90s when I remember getting a hot dog.  You would signal what you wanted.  He'd gun you a dog and you would put the money in the hot dog wrapper and toss it back to him--likely hitting some other guy in the vicinity instead of this guy.

Does anyone remember the cop you would go up the platform/steps in the southeast corner of the stadium?  It was pre-Huskervision days.

I got a dog from the Hot Dog man.  It was a real crowd thing.  He almost always was dead on target, but sometimes not, so the crowd around the intended target would help out. Even more so with us throwing the money back to him.  He was legend.  As was the cop that would bound up the southeast corner of the stadium.  The crowd would holler with each step/jump.  Simple entertainment is sometimes the best.

  7. This missed appearance is 100% on Dismuke.  He may have ASSumed that since the dope charges were dropped, he was clear on the other, but that is on him.  If you have a court date, then you, as an 18+ year old adult, have total responsiblity to either 1: Show up  2. Present clear notice in advance that you can't show up for a legitimate reason 3. Have, in writing, evidence that the appearance was cancelled.  Nothing to do with his team, his coaches, his counselors nor his friends.    He needs to be off the team as a message and as a consistency setting.

Obviously, the whole mornings practice thing is not working either.  Again, force feeding a square peg into a round hole.  Why not have normal afternoon practices and maybe attention to detail will be there.  If this is carrying over to Gameday walk through, maybe that is on the coach?  Stubborn Scotty Frosty at his best

    Wow. Childish much?

  9. I think Scott and staff are in a tough situation.  Three games ago, when bowl contention was almost a given, if they'd benched 8 or more poorly motivated players to start untested and young (read not quite ready for prime time but highly motivated) players and lost one or more of the games we won, how much louder would the outrage be today?  Fine line between 100% building on the future vs fighting to having a winning season and make a bowl game.  Glad I'm not a big time coach at a blue blood program that is on hard times.
