  1. Here is the scoop. Most people on HP didn't care about the lawsuit. Just two business partners fighting. Max went and started up HuskerMax. Charged $20 to join. The site had 10 or so guys who absolutely controlled the discussions on the board. I tried it for a year, but it was the most fingernails-on-chalkboard site I'd ever been on. Tried it for a year and went back to HP. HP had shrunk considerably by then, but at least the folks were friendly. Last week, we got notice that Max was back and was taking over. A host of his loyal followers jumped all over the HP board and started acting like compete jerks. It was like a throng of hoodlums bum rushed the site. They were beating their chests that Dave Max had "won" the lawsuit, as if we even cared. We don't care about millionaires winning court battles over each other. We just want to talk football. Thanks, thats the best explanation I have gotten so far. You were (the infamous) HuskerinSanDiego at HMax I take it Yes, I was. Won negative poster of the year last year. I am still kinda surprised by that, as I never tried to be inflammatory. On HMax, anytime I had a contrary opinion people went bezerk. Never could figure that one out. Oh well.
  2. That was good! So, in other words, our 2017 schedule is similar to Boise State's schedule.
  3. Attended the 1996 game v. Arizona State (Yes, longer than 10 years ago). Miserable game. My girlfriend had never attended a football game. She wanted to know if it was expected that ASU would win. I explained to her that they were tearing down both goalposts because it was an unexpected outcome!
  4. Just peaked ahead to 2013. Our first 8 games that year are absolute gimmes. Callahan could have gone 8-0 against that slate with his 2007 team. The final four games are tough, but, man, those first 8 are easy wins. Why am I looking ahead to 2013? Not sure, just did it!
  5. You have got to be kidding, right??? I meant the top 11 on O and the top 11 on D, with very few substitutions.
  6. My gut instinct is that I'm not scared of Penn State. PSU has won ugly this year, compiling a 7-1 record. The one game that nobody talks about is their only loss, 27-11 to Bama. This team might not score a lot, but they might be a heck of a lot better than people realize. I see our game with them being one of those 17-9 affairs. I hope that we treat them like they are the #1 team in the country before we play them. If we subconsciously underestimate them, it could be trouble.
  7. Agree, Green is getting frustrated. He's learning that the old run-end-around-the-tackle-for-a-touchdown may work in high school, but not college. I don't see Green transferring, however. Unfortunately, I could see Heard transferring since he's down the depth chart. It's unfortunate since all three backs are great.
  8. I like the fact that we are running more, but, with Turner's end-around speed, we could be that much more of a threat while running. My beef is that Turner is clearly electric when on the field. Whenever he plays, things happen. This is his first year ever playing WR and he has done very well. The coaches switched him when he arrived, and now they don't let him play? The guy needs to get on the field in game situations to get better. Simple as that.
  9. Hard to tell. If he is screwing off or not playing hard, then, yes, it's a lesson. However, I get the sense that he simply lost the practice battle and didn't get to play. I could be wrong, but if I am right, then it's ridiculous that he could not come in for a single play. If we have seen one flaw with this coaching staff it's that they want to play the top 22 and nobody else.
  10. When I read this quote today, I just thought that it was plain dumb: "One of those guys competing for playing time with Marlowe is true freshman Jamal Turner, who leads the team in receiving with 15 catches for 243 yards. But Turner didn't play against the Spartans." How can a guy go from leading the team in receiving to not even setting foot on the field? Ridiculous. If he got "out-practiced" during the week, then I could see him getting fewer snaps. But, I cannot fathom why the guy wouldn't even get in for a play.
  11. That's what I was about to say. In Saturday's game I think we kept the starters in there the whole game except when Yoshi and Caputo got hurt. You think that Cotton would learn. The O-line was stagnant until he went to the 8-deep rotation for Fresno State and Washington. Had two great games. I don't like the fact that he has fallen back to playing only starters. Yoshi is not much better than Sirles (if he's even better), ARod is not better than Choi, and Moore played well until Pelini yanked him on his first play in the Wisconsin game. I wish we'd keep playing 8 guys consistently.

  13. When Choi was switched to starter for the Fresno State game, he brought aggression to the line that had not been seen in years. He was awesome for two games, but now is gone. I cannot figure out why ARod got the job back. Did anybody notice whether Choi played in the game on Saturday?
  14. Don't get me wrong, but, aren't the black shirts supposed to go to the starters only? I understand wanting to thank everybody, but awarding 20 kind of defeats the purpose of the blackshirts. Under this plan, a blackshirt is basically anybody on the two-deep.
  15. Welcome, Amigo. I arrived two days ago. Like the new digs much better. Most of the folks at HP didn't give two seconds of thought about the lawsuit between HP and Max. We just want to talk football, not be part of some soap opera.
  16. If OU and Stanford win out, Stanford will be going to the NC game. I wonder if it could land OU in the Rose Bowl. OU played in the Rose Bowl several years ago. Man, the Rose Bowl would be salivating to have this matchup. If I am not mistaken, the Rose Bowl gets the first choice of a replacement if one of their participants is sent to the NC game. I don't think they'd choose a 2-loss Oregon over a 1-loss OU. Would love to get back at OU for last year.
  17. I realize that we realistically have no chance to play for the NC, but it's nice to see we have a team that suddenly is good on both sides of the ball. The beauty about being in the Big 10 is that we no longer have to worry about getting to a BCS game and being matched up with Pitt or UConn. Those teams would NEVER be invited to the Rose Bowl. Agree with Army, next year is suddenly looking really, really good.
  18. Before yesterday, I had absolutely no thought of us playing for the national championship. Heck, I had serious reservations about us finishing in the top 3 of the Legends Division. I woke up this morning, drank 2 liters of Kool-Aid and began wondering if there is a path to the National Championship. If the team that played yesterday shows up for the rest of the season, we have a shot at beating anybody. Having said that, here is what must happen for us to get up to #2 (please keep in mind that this is a dream, so just go with me on this: 1. Alabama must win out. Their remaining schedule beyond LSU is too weak (Georgia Southern in two weeks. Really?). 2. LSU must lose to Bama and Arkansas. Possible, even if not likely. 3. Stanford must lose to Oregon and Notre Dame. 4. Oklahoma State. Must lose to K-State and Oklahoma. 5. Boise State. Must lose to San Diego State or TCU. 6. Oregon. Must lose to USC. 7. Oklahoma. Must lose to Texas A&M (Remember, no conference title game). 8. Arkansas. Must lose to Tennessee or Georgia. This path is virtually impossible, but it is a list of the dominoes that must fall into place for us to get to the NC game. Oh yeah, we also have to beat Penn State and Michigan on the road, then win a rematch with Wisconsin. Other than that, I'm thinking national championship, baby!
  19. This is my first post on this board. I'm a transfer from HuskerPedia. Heard many good things about this board. Glad to be on board.
