  1. Before the season started I said there were two games that scared me. Northwestern, and Penn State. I figured NW was going to have a poor season but yet be a team that would beat the Huskers because of the type of offense they run. I was right. As far as Penn State goes I just don't like the idea of going to Happy Valley. I don't see anything happy about it. Hopefully after the loss to NW the Huskers will play like most of us expect them to and win. This should be a good physical game. I think the Huskers will win a close one.

  2. Something I think needs to be discussed about fan noise. For the OSU and MSU games I'll bet most in attendance were the owners of the season tickets. I'm sure yesterday probably 50% of the seats were filled by people who were given the tickets and don't go to the stadium on a regular basis. I know the lady behind me had to learn about the game from the young guy sitting next to her. To her it was an event to attend not a chance to get behind a team she loved. Multipy that by 30 to 40 thousand and no wonder crowd noise was down.

I know of at least ten co-workers who went to the game that only go but once a year if that. Although your numbers are probably high you may be onto something. However I don't think crowd noise had much to do with the loss. I think what Taylor Martinez had to say after the game had more to do with it. He said that the team may have been looking past NW and looking towards Penn State. I believe that more than the crowd noise argument. Either way the Huskers did not play well enough to win the game.

  3. I am not lucky enough to make it to the Husker games in person. Therefore I always think the crowd noise isn't loud enough while watching on the t.v. 85,000 fans should be able to create enough noise to disrupt the visiting team enough to make it difficult. If the gray hair numbers are like they were when I went to my last game in 94 then there are too many still in the stands. What can you do about it? Nothing as a fan, but as a team the Huskers can play good and give the fans something to make noise about. Winning would be nice.
